If we drafted Mudiay at 4 and could trade Rubio for the 8th pick I would do it. I would probably got Frank the Tank. I really think his game will work well in the NBA at PF.

Are you saying you'd take Frank over WCS?

Did you watch the Kentucky - Wisconsin with a blind fold on Cam?

One game means nothing. His junior year was spectacular defensively as a whole. His measurables are outstanding and he projects to be a defensive anchor. It's not even a question to me between WCS and Kaminsky.

I voted trade the pick. I'd definitely be willing to trade up to nab Towns or Okafor if a deal could be had. I'd also be willing to potentially trade down for Jakob Poeltl, the young big man out of Utah. I think Flip is desperate for a Center and that will definitely make it difficult for him to take a guy like Winslow or Mudiay.

There are two non-bigs I'd also be willing to select or trade up/down for, but I doubt Flip would do it: D'Angelo Russell and Mario Hezonja. Why? Because they have the most potential to be big-time shooters, something we so desperately need.

I just don't see the vast difference in value from Jrue Holiday and Ricky Rubio, which is what I keep basing my idea around.

And I'm saying that the perfect trade partner and scenario would be difficult to find. It's conceivable. I "don't think" it would happen... maybe even because of that Holiday trade.

Please explain the bold section. Why would the Holiday trade deter teams from making a similar deal?

After NO acquired Holiday, they were a playoff team in the tough West just two years after making that trade.

It's literally the same situation that could happen, except the "perfect trade partner" is one that already has playoff talent (SAC/IND/MIA). They just need a maestro to make it all come together.

I don't think you are wrong, but holiday was coming off an all star season and I could be wrong but hadn't had an injury history before the trade. Even though I like rubio, he is not an all star and coming off an injury

Who would we trade with though, Miami getting the tenth pick hurt us for the possible 76ers trade

I've probably been a bit hard on WCS. I see his ceiling as Tyson Chandler, but I am a bit concerned about his offensive production or lack of as a junior! Towns took the focus of opposition bigs every game yet WCS never took advantage of that. He'll make a decent starting C, provided he has a PF capable of scoring 15ppg (or more) next to him. We don't have one of those PF's so I have no interest in drafting him. WCS suits more of a team in 'win now' mode.

You have no interest in a potential defensive anchor like Cauley-Stein? Have you watched our defense? Since Dieng went down, teams have been shooting 70% in the restricted area... And with Dieng it wasn't pretty either as Q has already illustrated.

It might be tough to pass on Hezonja, he could be the most talented, complete player in the draft. But since I haven't seen even 1 game his I can't throw my support his direction.

That said I'd go with Winslow, he'd be a great compliment to Wiggins. Winslow is built very well so I could even see a small ball lineup with Rubio, LaVine, Wiggins, and Winslow. Not that that would be ideal but it would be fun to see.

Well, if Philly jumps ahead of us to the #1 or #2 spot, they might be willing to trade down to get their guy since a big man isn't necessarily a priority. Winslow, Hezonja, Mudiay, and/or Russell might be of interest to them. So if we gave up #4 and another asset, they might be willing to trade down.

Dude it wasn't just a matter of Deing going down. It was a matter of Justin Hamilton and Adrein Payne being are only healthy bigs, both of who are rookies.

Question. Do you offer the Lakers 4 for Randle? I don't see any good PF's in this draft who are going to be starters at the next level. Say the Lakers win and take Towns. Do you think they would trade for 4 which would be Mudiay, Winslow or Russell for Randle? Would you make that trade? They get to pitch to Love that they have Towns, Kobe and Mudiay, Winslow or Russell which is a stronger pitch than keeping Randle over one of the guards/wing. Even stronger would be to get Winslow, get Love and pitch to Westbrook the following year to join Kobe, Winslow, Love and Towns. It's a risk on their part that could pay off huge in Free Agency. We get a guy who should be a Zach Randolph 18/10 guy who can be our starting PF from day 1. I wasn't a huge fan of Randle last year, but we need a starting 4 and I don't see the options this year that were there last year.
