Re: Which NBA players are poised to become breakout stars this season?
While there's no disputing the fact that Ricky has never been a good finisher, I think the author misses the point on his numbers last year. It was pretty clear that Ricky was not as comfortable going to the basket after he returned from his ankle injury. The author seems to attribute Ricky's reluctance to penetrate to his inability to finish, but I think he just didn't trust his ankle. Our new trainer says his ankle is good now, so I expect Ricky's frequency of drives and points created on drives to bounce back. Let's hope his shooting percentage within three feet improves too.

When I saw the thread title, I thought of Oladipo.
As for the biggest player breakout... I think this is the year Anthony Davis is routinely discussed with LeBron as the league's best player. (I know I'm moving the goal posts a bit with that one...)

I am honestly a little surprised Rubio is one of the players considered I figured the media would be looking elsewhere. Good to see him getting some love.

With the way Walsh has been kicking that may actually help!
