@WojYahooNBA
Yahoo Sources: Minnesota progressing on contract buyout with former No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett. He would be free agent if clears waivers.

I am surprised but I think this is good for Bennett and I bet that's part of why the Wolves are letting him go. They get to save money and let the guy go to a place where he has a much better opportunity.

He's not really movable with that contract, but it's a shame we couldn't get something for him.

Good move on both parties if it works out. I still dont' see Rudez making the team.

I tend to agree I think they like Lorenzo Brown more than Rudez. I wonder if they feel like Prince can play PF if they needed him too. I don't know why not if Hummel and Bud played their last year why not Prince? Having said that I wouldn't be shocked to see them sign a vet big guy if someone decent is available.

This is the kind of move a losing franchise makes. Cutting a young guy with loads of potential to save a few bucks because the position is loaded with just as big of unknowns. Flip better be sure AP is gonna be a better player or this will go on the bad move list. At this point AP has to become a good rotation player because they essentially gave up a first round pick and Bennett for him to play for us.

I really think they are doing AB a favor here. He is going to get mop up duty at the most of KG and Bjelica here. It gives him a chance to sign some where that he might get minutes. I think 76ers would be perfect.

Uh-oh I hope LST doesn't take this to hard. Good luck to Bennett in his future endeavors, hopefully Bjelica will make us forget all about him.

I don't know what better opportunities would be out there... considering he couldn't pan out for a 66-loss team desperate for a PF.

After spending most of his rookie season being disparaged as arguably the worst #1 pick in the modern era.

Its too bad we couldn't get anything of value in a trade for AB and cash in on his little run this summer, but I think the team never had any plans to bring him back, has found no takers and doesnt want to drag it out. The positives are that we free up a roster spot, save dollars and not waste time on developing somebody who isn't part of the long term plans. Also, it won't be hard to find a better replacement at less money.
