Uh-oh! The competition for a final roster spot just got tougher...

I'm told Wolves have agreed to a deal with Kleon Penn to bring him to camp

Probably just another body at Center for camp. I'm going to go way out on the limb here and assume Pek won't be 100% yet.

My thoughts exactly, carlos. This guy was terrible in college, but he's big and can bang in training camp a little. Pek probably isn't ready, and this allows Sam to give Towns some scrimmage minutes at PF too is he so chooses.

Dude blocked a ton of shots in college and looks big that's about all I can say and that's probably all that needs to be said. It's hard to find any information on this guy past his college days so he probably isn't too good. The Wolves were probably pretty honest with guys saying you aren't getting a legit shot here unless catastrophe happens. If you have a better offer anywhere else take it. I wonder if Jeffers comes back to make a few bucks in TC before gettin cut.

Bennett getting in some work with some trainers. Good to see he isn't just sitting around.

@EricPincus: Kleon Penn and Nick Wiggins - yes the brother - have signed non-guaranteed summer contracts with the Minnesota Timberwolves @BBallInsiders

If the premise of this thread is correct, then Rudez will get the spot. But some think Lo Brown will get the spot despite us having three pgs on the roster already. Anyone else in consideration? What are the tea leaves saying?

Good question, Ricky. I don't see a need for either Rudez or Brown, so I think they try to keep some flexibility until they see how ready Pek is. AB played a lot of center this summer, and with his length and bulk could have filled in at C if needed. But with him gone, we may find ourselves thin at C if Pek can't go. I think they may be looking for another big body in that case. Raduljica would have been a nice option after his strong showing in the FIBA tournament, but he signed for two years with a Greek team. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see the return of Ronny Turiaf if he is healthy after his year off. I don't think the Wolves want to be left short at center again this year after seeing Hummel and Bud play there at times last year!
