One more quality pick and the new owner takes us out of town. I can see the Minnesota heartbreak so much more clearly now.

No, they're the same old Timberwolves. They'll continue to tease, maybe even break into the playoffs for a year or two then lose their quality players to free agency or trades because they too are sick of it.

That's a realistic counter. The long term depression v the short intense trauma.

Actually, that hasn't been the narrative for 12+ years now. And only for a brief period in the team's history. And even then... it isn't exactly accurate.

The Wolves did that with a top 5 player who wanted to stay here. Remember, the Wolves initiated that trade.

The "same old Wolves" are the ones losing 60+ games season after season.
