After tonight's game. We really need to try something different with our starting unit. Its clear sam will never bench kg even if he can only play 10mins a night.

One idea I think it's worth exploring is having bjelica start over prince. Let's see if he can defend sf. He spreads the floor for us and is an upgrade over prince on offense fot sure. He needs to get consistent minutes and lets try staring him to see how he responds.

Bazz starting is the popular choice right now and I'm not opposed to that but he has played very well off the bench so far. Prince takes Martin's minutes on the 2nd unit and we get a more balance lineup.

Sam Mitchell said after game how hard he's been on LaVine. Said when LaVine comes out on other side, he'll be proud of himself ... (cont)

LaVine on that notion: "It's not fun. Sometimes unfair. But he's coach and I'm player and that's what you have to deal with."

Was clear from LaVine's comments tonight he's not exactly embracing Sam's approach. And Sam is fine with that.

I made some statements at the beginning of this season about my potential concern about Zach's attitude in what I've seen from him so far. This doesn't really help my concerns. I hope this is just a kid being frustrated but you compare what he's willing to say vs what we've gotten from Towns so far and its night and day.

The flip side of this is that Mitchell seems to have completely lost the room. Either way these quotes bother me.

I'm on the side of lavine here and not because I am not a big fan of Mitchel. He is playing pg after he was told he was the starting sg. He started off the year good then he started playing bad and Sam just pulled his minutes way down and didn't let him play through it. Flip let him play through it last year (some of the reason is because no other option) sam does not.

Look at what sam has done to lavine

Starting sg
Week later backup pg
Rubio gets hurt now starting pg
Rubio comes back solely backup pg
Benches kmart, now solely backup sg
That dosen't work after a week backup pg
Plays bad sam cuts his minutes a lot

He has probably had the most undefined role on this team. And Sam is a hard ass (can be good sometimes), sam might be breaking down zach mentally and we will see in the long run if it was worth it

Rubio was indeed awful this game.

Rubio had yet to make a basket in Jan in the 4th quarter

If Ricky isn't gonna score he needs to put up Stockton like numbers in other areas . And he simply doesn't do that consistently. I'd rather have him as a great backup than an average/subpar starter.
I'm ready to move on honestly.
With Brooklyn blowing it up this year and Jarret Jack injured, I wonder if we could aquire him for cents on the dollar and have him ready for next season? Jack/Rubio/Chris Dunn combination isn't terrible

Even though Ricky is not ideal point guard for this team, he is much better than Jack. So if we would somehow acquire him, he wouldn't definitely start over Rubio. He might play some times in crunch time tough since he has balls to shoot the ball even when game is in line.

I would love to see LaVine continue to develop and become a PG. Maybe it is just this game making me say that but as good as Rubio is we could certainly use an upgrade.

I guess that was my only point, finding a pg that can actually put up some points when needed. Jack plays solid defense to boot

Meh. He still has several more games to go before he reaches the 4th quarter futility he had in the 2013 season.

I hear you on the Rubio frustration. But I think Jack would bring a different kind of frustration.

He's 32. And there's a reason he's played for 7 NBA teams. He does enough for teams to want him... but not enough for teams to want to hold on to him.
