Wiggins could easily have 5-6 assists in this game if only his team mates can make a jumper.

Not that it would have made any difference in this game, but I think this is one of the worst officiating crews I have ever seen.

I'm surprised Dieng hasn't lost his cool with the officiating against him this season. I'm over watching it. Can only imagine how he feels.

Zach Lowe just wrote about that strategy this week.

That's the strategy for several winning teams, including the Spurs. To be fair, those teams make a lot more of their shots on offense, so...

I don't know if I've ever complained about officials here before... but...

The Cavs could have picked the score tonight. 125 - 99. 163 - 112. 98 - 43. Or even 217 - 135.

They are just SO MUCH BETTER than the Timberwolves. The Cavs looked great. The Wolves are pretty terrible.

That's why I never have come to complete terms with the ubiquitous "Superstars get superstar calls" treatment. Do they need the benefit of seemingly every questionable call in these games? Tonight, was it the same official time after time after time? It was kind of funny seeing the entire Wolves bench just throw up their arms in more demonstrative fashion until they ended up just giving up and shaking their heads at each other.

Our Future:
We see those calls in blowouts.
Next up... we'll see them in close losses in a 45 loss season.
We'll complain about them in every game the team loses, but conveniently ignore the non-calls in wins.
We'll go apeshit when we blame it for a 1st rd. playoff loss.
We'll be upset when we lose our chance to make the NBA Finals because of it.

But hopefully... hopefully... along the way, the Wolves start getting some of those calls. That's a sneaky advantage of having TWO possible marquee guys. You don't necessarily need a great team to get superstar calls... but having stars is a must have. Someday... someday...

Whether the game is supposed to be close or not should have no bearing on the officiating. I don't know his name, but the ref wearing 55 tonight was the one who called two of the worst calls I have ever seen with the Lebron gifted free throws on a foul on the ground with no shot and Shumpert falling down into Martin and calling the foul on Martin. The ref under the basket on our bench's side of the court was also awful. A blatant Kyrie travel in front of him that was a finished lay up. A Lebron pass that bounced OUT OF BOUNDS that didn't get called and led to a corner three. I don't care who's playing. The officiating tonight was suspension worthy for it's terribleness. Also, I think it's less superstar player calls nowadays and more superstar team calls nowadays.

All I want is a clean called game regardless of the teams playing. I'll always complain about bad officiating even if we aren't even one of the two teams playing. It's bad nowadays and it should be called out. Did Cleveland need the help from the officials tonight to beat us? No. But is that a good reason for just being ok with the refs being terrible at their jobs and diminishing the quality of the product on the floor? It absolutely shouldn't be a situation where we just say we were gonna lose anyways so who cares if the officials ref'd the game with the same quality as a blind man. I want to watch good basketball, not just be resigned to putting up with shitty refs because we're supposed to lose anyway.

I think this hasn't been the only time this has happened this year. There is not a culture of effort with everyone on this team. I know people get on Wiggins for it, but it surprises the hell out of me what Lavine gets away with. The kid is so gifted and is only half in the game.

I believe LaVine is 9 - 46 fg over his last few games. (and that includes 4 dunks)

I think everybody here agrees with you on this.

But the NBA isn't changing it at this point. Sadly. That approach is part of why the league became so popular (see Jordan, Bryant, James, et al) So, with two superstars SOMEDAY HOPEFULLY, maybe the Wolves can get those calls down the line.
