I actually expect him to play a lot. Pek's; health issues and KG's minutes limit puts Flip in a box, so he needs that 3rd center lots of nights...I wish it was still Turiaf. I think Flip just wants him to play defense and board, so I don't think not knowing the playbook will be a factor. Less wear and tear on Pek the Iron Horse has to be a good thing.
Then why trade a guy who can play 35-40 minutes a night, for a guy who can only play 10-20 and no back to backs?
Because that "guy" is Kevin Garnett, Minnesota hoops hero and the NBA's MVM (most valuable mentor). The same guy that Flip looks at as a son. No offense, Ryan.
...Cue the people who bring up Thad's last year on his contract as a good enough reason to make that trade.

A lot of guys can play 35-40 a night, but do they make us a better team. Flip concluded that we couldn't win with Thad at PF, and I agree. You and I just have different opinions on this one. KG looked like our best player last night in his 21 minutes, while Young can't crack the starting lineup on a bad Nets team. Plus Flip doesn't have to pay Thad $10 million next year, and that's a win by itself.
why be concerned about trying to win at this point in the season?

Yeah, I go there sometimes too...I admit there have been times when I haven't been too upset with a loss if I thought it would help our draft position. But when I go to a game, I want the Wolves to win and I think most of the fans in the building do too. I think you try to win every game, as long as you keep the long view in mind too. Personally, I see the Young/Garnett deal as a deal that is good both for the short term and the long term.

Yeah, I see that as the issue too, world. I suggested above that Flip really wanted things to work out with Glenn because of his pedigree and athleticism, as well as seeming like a good guy, so he didn't want to give up too soon. But I think he finally concluded he just wasn't a good enough basketball player.

I just remember a whole lot of Adelman bashing about how he was trying to win now and didn't care about the future and how it hurt us so bad, and Flip's essentially doing the same thing and nobody calls him out on it

I don't see anyone acting like that. All it is, is you don't find cheaper young contract players than 2nd rounders and as far as talent goes for a U.S. player in the 2nd round he had about as much as one can without them having some kind of serious red flag on their resume.
True but he is a UFA next year what will require a pay raise to keep him, for a fur who going into the season would only get dnp

Because he waived a guy that 43 other teams passed on?

He isn't though adleman, wasn't playing his first round picks in dieng, Bazz and dwill while flip is getting the young guys playing time minus gr3, and I think that says something about gr3

This could very well be the case long. If you look at it now, him being on the roster almost all year probably hurt and cost us. We held on to him when we badly needed a pg and center. We have too many wing players and he just wasnt going to play even when we where hit with injuries. Hopefully this hamilton kid can have more value to us than gr3.
The title of this thread is your fav gr3 moment. I dont think we even have a moment to talk about regarding him. He does have a good nickname on our board though. GR3 has a good ring to it.
