Rebound tracker.
Justin Hamilton
Adrien Payne
Chase Budinger
Robbie Hummel
That's the frontline tonight. I'd like to see Wiggins get in there for a few rebounds. Maybe pull off the second double-digit rebound effort of his career.
His team needs it... and at this point of a really lousy season... he might even appreciate the challenge.

Re: Rebound tracker.
Apparently, Wiggins wanted no part of the challenge.
1 rebound.
Wolves outrebounded right now 51 - 29.

Re: Rebound tracker.
People wonder why Wiggins has a net negative On/Off rating (meaning our team has performed slightly better when he's not playing), which is kind of crazy when you think about the fact he'll be ROY and we clearly rely on him to carry a big part of our offense and defense.
Well, his lackluster rebounding neutralizes a lot of the other good stuff he does. His 4.4 rebounds per 36 minutes isn't bad for a SG, but it's pretty anemic for a SF, especially someone with his physical gifts. Combine that with his up and down scoring efficiency and you have someone who doesn't impact the game nearly as much as we'd like to think he does.
Moving to the SG role may ultimately be his best fit.

Either that or add some strength.
The bottom line is that our front court is horrible.

Re: Rebound tracker.
That wasn't an NBA-level frontline yesterday. So, it's not surprising that the Magic dominated on the glass.
I was genuinely curious how Wiggins would react in that situation. He's a rookie and young and promising and all those wonderful things. And this is a lost season and the guy certainly put in his time amid the "injuries" and ineptitude around him. EVENTUALLY, if he's going to be the (super)star many here project him to be, however, he'll find a way to make an impact in that situation that's more than 1 solitary rebound.

I find it hilarious that two of the guys who have stuck up for Thad Young, are calling out our rookie wing player for averaging about 1 rebound less per game than our so called "starting PF" was posting.

Re: Rebound tracker.
Never really stuck up for Young. so I don't see the connection here.
By the way, I'm ok with ripping young relentlessly for 6 rebounds while ignoring Wiggins' 1 rebound... And the irony there. Because wiggins is still a rookie.
And I'm not really ripping Wiggins. 1 rebound in a game like this in year 3? Then I'll rip him.

Re: Rebound tracker.
Wiggins was not a great rebounder in college, and I didn't expect him to be a great rebounder at SF in the NBA. It's one of the reasons I still see his future as a SG. I know there are questions about his ball handling, but I think his ability to post up smaller SG's combined with his outside game will maximize his offensive potential, while leaving room for Shabazz to start at SF. I sense that Flip is inclined to think the same way and that is why is trying to make LaVine into a respectable PG who is also able to back up Drew at SG.

Maybe I'm sensitive Abe, but that looks like a rip to me, and further making the comparison of Young's average rebounds (rounded up of course) to one low rebounding game for Wiggins furthers my belief.
As for sticking up for Young, wasn't that you in the KG trade thread I commented on presenting Young as a "legit professional PF" or something to that effect. That sounds like sticking up for him.
Re: Rebound tracker.
I don't see that as ripping Wiggins. He's just saying in order to reach his full potential (being a superstar) he needs to do better in the rebounding department. With that said I'm sure the current state of the interior on the team doesn't help.
