I totally agree. The guy they drafted high is out due to injury.

My friend who is from Milwaukee really dislikes Kidd but has been impressed what he and that team has been able to accomplish.

It has been really impressive what Kidd has been able do for Milwaukee's defense. They had 2nd worst Drtg last year and this year they have 2nd best Drtg (after Golden State). They have done this without major changes for their roster. (none of their three additions Dudley, Bayless or Parker were known from their defense). Milwaukee is even worse defensive rebounding team than Wolves are but still they are able to play great overall defense.

I really hope that Wolves would find new coach that could have similar effect on our defense than Kidd has had for Milwaukee.

Anthony Davis is already in the conversation as the NBA's best player.

To make the same claim about Wiggins is only conjecture. I take the Pelicans over any other non-playoff team... without a second thought. You said the NBA is about stars. There is no brighter NBA star than Anthony Davis.

- Just turned 22 years old.
- Improved significantly (almost alarmingly) in each of his last 4 years playing basketball.
- 25 / 11 / 3 blks / 55% fg

We all have our own definition of "stars." Anthony Davis is a "superstar" in my book. There's a big difference between the two. Wiggins isn't close yet... he could be, someday. But what are the odds he ever reaches the level Davis is at now. And Davis is still improving. We assume Wiggins will improve too. But to the level Davis has?

I'm not willing to play those odds.

Maybe even I would take Pelicans roster if we could swap whole team but I wouldn't honestly probably trade our 25 years and less talent for New Orleans prospects. If we would do that trade, our roster would be as below:

Starters:
Jrue Holiday 24
Kevin Martin 32
Tyreke Evans 25
Anthony Davis 22
Nikola Pekovic 29

Bench:
Chase Budinger 26
Kevin Garnett 38
Robbie Hummel 26
Gary Neal 30
Luke Babbitt 25
Elliot Williams 25
Jeff Withey 25

That team would have OK starting five but horrible bench that would not have any prospects that could be future starters. In addition three starters Pekovic, Martin and Holiday seem to be injury prone. Even Anthony Davis has missed games almost Pek like rate during his first three seasons. (18, 15 and 14 games missed so far. Pek missed 17, 19 and 20 in his 1st three seasons)

I don't see that team making playoffs in next season even if they would get top 5 pick this summer. Starters, Bud and top5 pick would make almost 60 million, so they could not even sign much free agents.
Then next summer there would be huge change than Anthony Davis would leave to another team.
