I don't know much about the author, Kelly Scaletta, but he describes exactly my feelings about the potential of this roster. And unlike me, he's not a T-Wolves homer...he's a Chicago resident and Bulls fan. I didn't post in Cool's wins projection thread, but if you believe what this author is saying, the Wolves are poised to win far more games than were forecast in the thread. Flip isn't the right guy to coach this roster, but we're just going to have to accept him for at least another year. I think there's enough talent, and talent that fits together well, to make the playoffs this year.
BUT, since these are the Wolves, I have to add this to the end of the last sentence..."IF they can stay reasonably healthy".

While I hope he is right on the win prediction, I just think it's really difficult to win a lot of games when your two best players are under the age of 21. If we were in the East I think we are a playoff team. Unfortunately we aren't.

LST, Only Abe is allowed to use CAPS for emphasis. I thought you knew that already. I'm excited too for this team to take a big step, we shouldn't use age as an excuse for not taking a big step and challenge for a playoff spot next year (other teams have done it). Our Twins did it in 1991, worst to first! We can do it too, KG will be our Jack Morris.

Now this is the type of thread that I can get excited about. Newsy, with plenty of well meaning stats to back up the author's points.
And LST, why didn't you post in the wins trajectory thread?

That article says a lot of what I've said time and time again, so, of course I enjoyed it.

Ha, because I'm a pussy...peer pressure. I read all the predictions saying we weren't going to win more than 30 games, and I didn't feel like being such an outlier. But now that the Oracle of Chicago, Kelly Scaletta, has the Wolves as a "contender", I'm ready to go public. I look at a roster of Rubio, KG, Wiggins, Towns, Martin, Healthy Pek, Shabazz, Dieng, LaVine, Bennett, and a free agent backup PG, and I see playoffs.

That's right Cam. He stole all your material and wrote an article about it. What a dick.

I'm not sure we'll still have Bennett after Thursday.
