But there's no happy medium for either team. 16th is too much to give up for Bennett for the Celtics, and the 28th is too low for the Wolves as they're already giving up 2 high 2nd rounders.

Maybe if Flip included the rights to Bjelica they'd include the 16th?

Anthony Bennett, Chase Budinger (or trade exception), 31st, 36th and rights to Bjelica for Gerald Wallace and 18th pick.

Can't include trade exceptions in deals, meaning, you can't use it as an asset in the trade.

In terms of the actual trade you mentioned, I don't think either team would do it.

TheSP wrote:There has been plenty of talk about trading the two seconds and a throw in player to move up. The only issue here is how little they're moving up, 31 to 28. I agree with those who say you only make this move if a player you want badly is there at 28 and you don't think he will be at 31.

My questions:

1. Would you trade AB simply to make room for Bjelica?
2. Would you trade 31 & 36 to move up to get a specific guy you want even if that means only moving up a couple spots?

If you answer yes to both I don't see the issue with this trade proposal, assuming they do then sign Bjelica.

SP. my quick answer to both questions is "no". I might change my mind if the player who had dropped to 28 was a guy that Flip had going in the lottery...then it might be worth it.

Why would we do this? It sounds like portland would give 23rd pick for two seconds so is bennett really negative value? If so just let him go after this season. We are fooling ourselves if we think we will be some type of serious contender this year. I still think bennett can figure it out. Hes got a lot of talent. I dont want us to move him unless for a pick before 26 or so by himself. He was playing well after coming back for the short time before he got injured again. Like his potential more than a guy we would get at end of first

I don't think there is much of any chance of Flip accepting that deal as its has been presented in the report.

That can't be a real trade offer. That's a joke.

I wouldn't be surprised if that offer was real. The only problem for Ainge is the guy on the other end of the phone isn't Kevin McHale or Billy King. It's harder for him to fleece teams now that he's done it multiple times.

Hmm... In that case I have some used facial tissues can I trade them to you for your most valuable assets? Lol
