I doubt it just because he is a headcase. Lots of organizations don't want to marry themselves to headcases by using a first pick on them. Talent wise he is a lottery pick, but he couldn't stick with a team.

I could see a team at the end of the first round taking a toll of the dice if for no other reason you get to for sure keep him for more than 2 years and cheap if he turns out to be worthwhile.

He is projecting second round and would be a steal. I almost can assure you that Upshaw is a second rounder. I would love to take a flyer on him.

Would love both Mickey and Upshaw with picks 31 and 36. I think Cam is right about Flip not jumping off the Payne bandwagon. I understand him not quitting on a rookie after 30 games or so. That being said he has one year to prove himself. I would be looking to find my PF and Payne wouldn't stop my search one little bit.

Flip did cut GR3 to get someone he liked better at a position of need so that's one example of him moving on from a young player. Overall he hasn't been here long enough to get a sense of what he will do but he certainly was high on Bazz and that looks good. Assuming we go big with #1 the next 3 team needs are PF, PG and just talent. I'd love to get guys in any of those catagories but another prospect at PF sounds good and a young PG does too. I'm with Cam on liking Grant a lot.

Sidenote: Towns skills on the defensive end may be a compliment for Bojan Dubljevic.

I was bored so I was over on KFAN Rube chat today and I saw this. I know the poster has been on there for a while so FWIW

This is true. Someone "in the know" told me that Bjelica would be here in a second if they could dump Bud or Pek's contracts in a trade. But there's no shot on Pek, and even Chase would be doubtful.

Unsure on if neither are traded.

This person is credible, and would know about this kind of stuff, and I'm not claiming to know more - this is literally one convo I had with them about it.

And if you did find a partner for Bud or Pek you would have to bring another bad contract back with you.

My god I would love that. I don't think that Bud is that untradeable, hell I think the Sixers would take him on for a 2020 second round pick.

You don't think the world famous dumpster in Philadelphia would take Budinger with a 2nd rounder? All you would have to do is take back one of their non-guaranteed contracts or a heavily protected 2nd rounder that will never be conveyed

They may. They need contracts so they can reach the cap floor. They won't take Pek though. That ship has sailed.

Nobody has to reach the cap floor. All those Suzers players were sad when they didn't get to split the money that was under the cap floor last year. Lol

I think Bud may be moveable. I have wondered if Salary is one reason Flip isn't sure about bringing on Bjelecia but you would think if they really liked him they would make it happen one way or another. I am not cap expert what options are there to fit Bjelicia and that 3 years 15 million in?

I've always thought New Orleans was a good landing spot for Bud. They might have the cap space to absorb his deal. It's hard to know what cap holds they'll get hit with to make that kind of deal. I've always wanted to do a blockbuster with them giving them Pek, Martin and Bud for Gordon and parts. They get the role players they need around Davis and we get a big fat expiring who can be Lavine insurance for a year and then easily get out of his way going into the following season.
