In all honesty that's pretty much the feeling I get from reading your posts anymore. Unless I'm missing all the bb talk it seems to me you spend most of your time here bashing on others.
You're just mad I wouldn't take TheSP No. 1 overall.
And no, if you're missing the basketball talk, then I'm not sure what you're reading of mine.
I agree with TheSP. Ever since people jumped on the Towns bandwagon you've found a new sense of pride/arrogance as if you're a superb basketball mind and you constantly downplay/belittle everyone else's opinions.Remember for every towns there is a Nick stauskas. We don't even know if towns will pan out, slow your role a bit.
If I think you're wrong, I'll tell you why you're wrong and that's it. I belittle, if we want to call it that, people's opinions if they're stretching to make their point. For example, that Bennett/Love comparison on the other thread rubbed me the wrong way and I made it known. I won't apologize for that one. (Note: I've said over and over that I respect LST's posts on here, and even when we're both snarky to each other, it doesn't diminish that. I just didn't like what he was saying.)
And when it comes to Towns, you're damn right I'm a bit arrogant. It wasn't months ago that I was having paragraph after paragraph debates with posters on this forum who were telling me I was wrong in saying Towns was the best player in the draft, the player we should want to select. I can't remember another time on this board where everyone (except doper and khans) flip-flopped the way they did, and mainly because media pundits started to spew the very same takes I was saying in this very forum. Give me a fucking break.
Maybe you can't recall that I was the one with you in towns' corner all year, but I was. There is a difference in having an opinion and stating facts on something unproven. Mikkeman said it best in another thread. Getting so tied in to one idea/player which makes you completely unable to accept possible ideas/opinions against a player makes you appear ignorant. I have preferred towns just as long as you have for this team, yet I completely agree with bleed and trko about their opinions that Russell very well could be the next big deal in the NBA. Okafor could just as well surpass towns and Russell. Its fine to have strong opinions, but then why come to a message board where ideas are meant to be bounced off of each other. There is no need to pigeonhole yourself to the point where you look like an ass. Everyone here has valid opinions, and should have them respected. Your posts make you sound like a middle school student lately. You realize you have just as much potential to be wrong as you do to be right, don't you? Everyone here knows your stance. Credit will be given about your opinion, and then maybe you can think about making told-you-so posts if that's how you get off. I appreciate everything that happens on this board. Those that pull stats, those that find articles, those that bring NBA knowledge of 40+ years, etc. I'm not here for a pissing match, and I don't think 90% of the posters are either. We are here to debate and have opinions respected. Something you seem to have ignored lately as you try to claim a know-it-all status that isn't at all warranted.
Is that so? I don't remember you being pro-Towns all year long, but I do remember you posting the other day about how you feel like he's overrated in what he'll bring to the NBA, which is fine if you feel that way.
Mikkeman, who is a great asset to the forum, was discussing how the eye test is as important as numbers, but that he doesn't have the time to watch all that basketball and make takes based on the eye test like others so he divulges what the numbers say. If I'm mistaking what Mikkeman said, then I'd like for him to clarify for me, but that's what I got out of it.
And what you (Rubioooo) are saying is that I hitched my wagon to Towns irrationally when in fact I watched all but five Kentucky games this year and used numbers to support what I was saying. I also watched a ton of Duke and Ohio State to see Okafor and Russell. I've talked them up too just not as much as Towns because I don't feel like either will have the impact Towns will. I'm not pigeonholed or being ignorant. I just pinpointed the top player in the class. Can you be okay with that? I can.
If you don't like what I post, then skip it when you see it. I've never once claimed to be a know-it-all, but like every other human being, when you share an idea about something, you'd like to get credit for it.
