IF we get Wiggins...
Re: IF we get Wiggins...
LST and Cam I think it's a little unfair to declare Harrison Barnes a bust after two seasons. He actually played pretty well in his rookie season then fell behind AI on the depth chart this last season. It took Paul George three years too break out.
I'd certainly want Barnes with Klay Thompson in any GSW trade.

At the end of the day, Parker is in the mold of superstar not conducive to being known as a winner (Melo, Love, Kyrie before Lebron; i.e. guys who can score in bunches but don't defend). Wiggins is in the mold of superstar which is conducive to winning (Lebron, Durant and soon to be AD; i.e. guys who play well on both ends of the court). We just had 6 years of a guy in the first mold and never made the playoffs, so why is Parker considered to be the better player when he is a star in the mold of the non-winners category. Wiggins got the nod as the number 1 pick because of the fact he plays defense so well and Parker is just a scorer and rebounder like so many before him that are not considered winners.

I agree that Barnes is not a bust...he's a solid NBA player with upside that I would also need in a GS deal. I think Cam's point, with which I agree, is that Barnes has not lived up to what he was projected to be 3 years ago, and the same could happen to Wiggins. Having Barnes as a floor for Wiggins is a pretty solid floor though.

Barnes is a bust and he's a borderline rotation player based on what he's shown in two seasons. Paul George had already shown signs of breaking out by his third year. Barnes has not. Also, Barnes as a floor for Wiggins is not solid. For a player that gets as much praise as Wiggins does, his floor better be at least that of an NBA starter, which Barnes is not.
Funny, we don't have the data to say LaVine's a better prospect than Wiggins (wasn't my argument anyway), but we can compare Wiggins to the greatest player whoever touched a basketball (Jordan).
I'm ready to hop on the Wiggins train, don't get me wrong, but it's way too early.

I wouldn't call him a busy just because he's not george. Barnes should play for 7-9 years. Flynn is someone who I'd call a busy

Wasn't calling him a bust because he isn't George. Was replying to Kiwi who compared Barnes to George and their third seasons (next year for Barnes). His play up to this point, plus where he was drafted, is why I see him as a bust.

Oh yea no way. George does everything better by a wide margin.
Re: IF we get Wiggins...
Flynn was anything but a bust. He posted a very good rookie season playing for Rambis. His hip injury is the reason he went backwards. There was no way of predicting that for a guy his size.

He was taken 7th overall and has been in the league two years. How can he already be a bust? He wasn't taken top 5 and his role was reduced in year 2 because of the addition of AI. How is he supposed to develop when he was essentially replaced before his second year in the league after a strong showing in the playoffs? I think if you put a pass first PG like Ricky around him, he becomes a very useful player. I think too many people over value the ability to create you own shot in this league. Guys like AK and Deng were all-star level players because they could play great defense and were extremely good off the ball. I see no reason why Barnes can't be Deng if given an opportunity to start in this league after a few years to adjust to the NBA game.

I see what you are saying but I'd still classify him as a bust because injuries are part of that equation ask Oden about that.
