I'm not even sure I see Wiggins becoming a Paul George. He doesn't appear to have George's length or overall size and his ballhandling seems even more suspect that George's when he came out of college. In fact, Wiggins' ballhandling appears worse than I initially thought and I've always believed he's been shaky in that area. Wiggins knows his ballhandling is seriously deficient, which is why he keeps settling for jumpers. Vi think we may end up happy that the Cavs refused to deal Wiggins for Love.
Wiggins is also a very young guy his ball handling may improve a lot. I know youth can be looked at too much but I think that's worth noting for Wiggins. He seems to have a nice physical profile but we don't know his wigspab etc since it doesn't look like he was measured. People want him to become a top player but if he turns into one of those 10 time all-stars with impact like Elton Brand I think that would be pretty good with all the other talent they have. Paul George is a bit of a unique guy with his all-around game. He is very good but I am not sure where I would put him but he still has potential being pretty young yet.
Monster, although Wiggins' arms don't appear as long as Bennett's, they almost are. Wiggins' wingspan is 7 feet, and Bennett is an inch more. That's a lot of wingspan for guys their height.
Wiggins will be very good in a couple if years. His shooting will only get better as you can see he is a very fluid shooter and can get off his shot which looks nice. He shot better than expected in college and i believe he will in the pros as well. Ball handling needs a lot work but its not something he cant improve upon. Physically, he has all the tools, needs to add some muscle and he will be fine.
He will be the best player we can get for love, moreso than klay or any other option.
Can we stop saying what Wiggins can or can't be based on summer league play and college? The kid is 19 and we have people already trying to talk down what he's going to be in this league for reasons I just don't get. Paul George was not even close to the player he is today as he was in his rookie year. Paul George also was never in consideration for the number 1 pick when he came out, so I fail to see how Wiggins potential isn't at least as high as George. The league benefits from more stars and you guys just put everyone down based on flaws that can get better given time only you don't have the patience to give them that time. Wiggins isn't going to set the world on fire in year 1, but he clearly has the tools to be something special in this league along with Jabari and Embiid.
The chances of any player to become as good as Love is not great. That's why he is a top 10 player. The only 4 I see with a chance to surpass him is AD in NO because he can do it on both sides of the ball. We know the more established guys like Klay have even slimmer a chance to be as good as Love because they aren't close with a few years under their belt already. Love is a virtually irreplaceable top 10 player in the league, so all you can do is to hope you get assets in return that help you rebuild the franchise, which a number 1 pick in a stacked draft can provide.
