Is it okay to hit on 50% of your draft picks? If Deing and LaVine turn into solid pros. Should be happy with that? I had hope for Shabazz, but it is waning quickly. To bad Flip didn't go the Greek Freak last year. I am wondering if passing on him made him go for LaVine.

Dieng's stat line looks horrible again. Shabazz is a chucker and still looks like a clod. There's no hope for Shved. As for coaching. Look at Sidney's career record as a head coach and that's all you'll need to know. Is he a good assistant coach? Who knows. But note there weren't any NBA or college teams clamoring for his services. Nor we're any teams clamoring for Flip's services as a front office exec.

Flip has surrounded himself with his old pals and family -- a group who won't challenge or out-shine him. He's been passive and shown absolutely no imagination thus far in his current role as President of Basketball Operations. The status of Love remains up in the air, Ricky's agent is pushing for a max contract and, except for LaVine, none of our younger players look like like they belong in the NBA -- not even Dieng so far in Summer League.

I still like the LaVine pick and Flip has proven to be a very good head coach in the past, although he hasn't been tested recently in that role. But I have a really bad feeling about where this franchise is headed. I see us spiraling downward over the next several years. Maybe after that Glen will do what he should have done years ago and hire someone like Kevin Pritchard to head our basketball department. Until then, I'll continue to hope for the best and hope that my prognostication ends up wrong.

Wow, doomsday is coming after 3 summer league games!

Don't worry. It'll only take one good summer league game to change everybodys minds. Maybe even one good quarter

Khan went 50% in the Rubio/Flynn draft!

Biggest mistake Khan made. It was a franchise changing pick (Flynn).

I'd say if Flip hits on 50% of his picks considering where guys were taken then I'd take that every time. I'm not totally giving up on Bazz either I wonder if they see his potential as a guy that can utilize his post game against wings and that's why we are seeing him do that almost exclusively in SL. That would actually make sense. Do I agree with that? Idk this team is so awful its hard to take much away from these performances except LaVine looks good and other guys not worth mentioning look super awful.

The comments on this thread about Muhammad are difficult to disagree with. He looks as lost and ineffective in SL this year as he did last year, while most of the other 2nd year players are showing great improvement. I know it's just SL, but I'm not at all happy with his game. I just turned on today's game and see that he is 0-5 today...just not showing anything in SL.

He does have a nice assist to Fesenko though, and he just scored on Plumlee in the post not too long ago. Struggling, but plays here and there that keep me slightly optimistic.

And he does play hard too, cam, so I'm trying to stay optimistic. It looks like he'll end up with a double double today, so at least he's producing today. He's such an unorthodox player, but the potential to produce is still there.
