Scrimmage
The lineup for next weeks scrimmage is pretty crazy when you look at it from an age perspective. Great promise. http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2015/07/01/timberwolves-hosting-free-scrimmage-for-public-july-8/
"The scrimmage roster will include Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Shabazz Muhammad, Gorgui Dieng and Adreian Payne as well as the team's latest draft choices, Karl-Anthony Towns and Minnesota native Tyus Jones."

No mention of Bennett
That's an exciting group of players I wonder who else will fill out the scrimmage.

Re: Scrimmage
From my understanding Bennett is basically with team Canada this summer so we won't get to see him until training camp and pre-season. I forgot what the tournament was called, but they're in a summer tournament and he's playing for them. Hopefully he plays a lot, otherwise I think it might have been just a way out for Flip keeping him from the team while he tries to work out a deal.
Flip: We'd like you to play for team Canada this summer.
Bennett: But coach, we're building something awesome here and I want to play with these guys this summer. Coach, why are you nudging me in the back? Why are you closing the door? I can see you wiping my name off the white board depth chart.

Wouldn't Wiggins be on that team as well?

It's not a big enough event to bring in all the big guns. I believe it's the Pan AM games which consists of just the Americas nations. Most of the best teams in the world won't even be there because they're over in Europe. Ryan Hollins appears to be the only NBA player on team USA playing.

I believe you are spot on Khans. Like you - I think it's a bit odd. If AB was going to be part of this year's squad, I would think it would be far better to be around for stuff like this and summer league. It just builds excitement to let the fans see and track the young guns against similar competition.
Many of us have been saying he's going to be dealt. And while there still is a small chance he sticks with the Wolves, I'm not sure how much he can do to "open eyes" over this summer. We'll see. At this point, I'm assuming Pek is not playing for a while since I haven't heard anything about him. That could open up a roster spot for another big like AB.
Thanks for posting link Big O.

Re: Scrimmage
I was looking up where Bennett is playing this summer and found story after story about how good he looked last summer. I still don't believe he is a bust that the wolves should give up on this early in his career. I'm sure glad nobody labeled me a bust and wrote me off like that at 21.
But back to original point... I look at those 7 names plus Rubio and Bjelica and think damn this is going to be a fun time to be a fan!!

Yeah, AB will be announced as part of the Canadian team for the Pan Am games this morning. The games will be held in Toronto (AB's and Wiggins' home town) July 21-25, and they begin practices next week making AB unavailable for SL and the scrimmage. Canada wanted Wiggins to play too, but this is mostly for D Leaguers and recent college players.
I don't read too much into this because AB committed to playing back in February I believe, certainly with Flip's blessing. But there are enough other signs that he will not be a Wolf this season. I'm still not happy about that though.
