So here is a non-Love topic: OJ Mayo. He had a very sub-par year with the Bucks. He's signed for two more years at 8 mil per year, and I have to think the Bucks would like to move him.
The Bucks were the team that almost signed Bud away from us last year. Something like Bud and Shved for Mayo might satisfy both teams. We would be banking on a return-to-form from Mayo. He would add ball-handling and 3-point shooting to our backcourt, along with Rubio and Klay (okay, I did bring up the Love topic!).

And most on here think Kmart is overpaid lol... If Martin was delt to GS,I would be all over this trade because we would need a SG in a bad way....Bud and Shved do nothing for me so if they could land OJ that yes plezzz....

Re: OJ Mayo
I'd bank on Budinger returning to form before Mayo.
If we're looking to make a trade not involving Love, maybe we should be dialing up the Cavs and offering up Shved+? for Waiters.

Re: OJ Mayo
I think if Mayo can accept a role as a combo scoring guard off the bench, then I would be happy to deal Bud and Shved or Bud and JJ for him. 8 million is a lot to pay a bench player, but he can play both the 1 and 2 on the second unit and give us a better rotation player in the backcourt than we got from anyone last year. He's still a 38% a game 3 point shooter and we need shooters and ball handlers of which he can do both. I wouldn't judge what anyone does in Milwaukee because they were an awful team last year. His best year was in Dallas with a good coach and a good organizational approach to the game. Dallas even resurrected Monta's career and made him look better than when he was in Milwaukee. If Flip thinks he can get Mayo to buy into his system as a backup, then I'll take the 40% 3 pt shooter with 4 assists a game Mayo that was in Dallas.
Re: OJ Mayo
I've said this for years OJ Mayo sucks. He should have negative trade value no way should we trade for him. He lost playing time to a rookie 2nd round pick that shot a poor percentage all year. He has had 2 golden chances the last 2 years to show he is something and ultimately he has failed. NO THANKS

Re: OJ Mayo
How did he fail in Dallas? He scored 15 a game on 40% 3 pt shooting with almost 4.5 assists per game. They ditched him because he wasn't worth 8 million a year, but that stat line is far from failing compared to the rest of the 2's in this league.

Rather go after Waiters. Martin + Shved...
Easier said than done. I know that.

Go back and look at his stats when Dirk came back and OJ wasn't getting a ton of shots whenever. It was pretty bad. He is a volume shot and minute player. When he gets bench player minutes he struggles even more. Its kinda funny that at this point bothMayo and Beasley are basically wildcard bench player at best and busts. Neither guy got it and I doubt they ever will.
Re: OJ Mayo
The fact that he was carrying the Mavs until Dirk got back is what I look at. We don't know how things were handled when Dirk got healthy. I would move Bud and Shved for Mayo in a heartbeat. He can get his own shot, and that is all I need to know. Then look at his career TS% of 53.2, and I'll pick him up at the airport.
We have nothing to lose. Shved has shown absolutely nothing, and Bud is a similar shooter dependent on others to get his shot, and is a horrendous defender as well. He will likely never be truly healthy again which makes the situation even worse. Flip just said he was monitoring Bud's knee rehab. How long does he need to rehab considering he was back playing in January. He didn't suffer an ACL tear or have MF surgery. It was a torn meniscus!
