I have to say when KG left and was winning the title with Boston I was rooting for him, and loved the moment when he cried out "anything is possible" and gave a shout out to "Sota." And no doubt KG has unlikable human qualities, including often acting like an asshole on the court.
But wherever Love goes, I will be rooting for him to fail. It's one thing to let it be known behind the scenes that you want out, it's another to do it through the media, and then give smug interviews where you refer to the team you are under contract with as "they."
As a player I think Love is a statistical monster, but impact wise his ceiling is a Chris Bosh type player on a great team. I'd actually really like to see him in Boston with Rondo, because I think they will be mediocre at best. But you put him with a healthy D-Rose and Noah, or (gulp) Kyrie and Lebron, and he can be a key piece on a championship team.
So which one is he?

I agree with almost everything you said except I won't be hoping he fails and
Love is a better player than Bosh and would be a much better player on those teams than a Bosh. Can you imagine Love with Wade and James on the Heat the last 4 years intead of Bosh? That would be scary. Better rebounding (would score plenty just on offensive rebounds and junk plays) lethal shooting with Wade and James driving and kicking, slightly worse defense but better at everything else and I bet his defense would improve on the Heat just like Bosh did. Love is SIGNIFICANTLY more equiped to be a role player than Bosh its not even remotely close.

Re: So which one is he?
I enjoyed rooting for him while he was here as a statistical marvel, but good riddance to him if he leaves. The one thing I can't stand is players who give up on their team and city instead of trying to be part of the solution. If he wanted out, it should have all been behind doors and he should still be acting like the face of the franchise he is still under contract with until he is dealt. At this point, how can Flip afford to bring him back? None of the players are going to respect him as a leader or want to play with him after he threw some of them under the bus last year and is already distancing himself from us while still under contract. I'll root for him if he stays because he makes this team watchable, but I won't care about him once he leaves and that is due to his less than graceful exit that is already in the works. He's a great player and we'll definitely miss the production, but at some point you have to respect yourself as a team and bring in guys who want to turn it around and ditch the guys who just want to blame others.

Look at point #1 of Flip's six point plan. Team chemistry...I think he's a goner & I will not shed a tear about his departure. I just hope we can improve our team through trading him

I liked Love as the player. I thought he was a tough player to build around though. He has never been a leader. He will be a good 2nd or 3rd option. Rubio seems like the perfect player to build around. He also is a leader. I look at it this way. Love is more Marbury and Rubio is more KG by nature. I think if Rubio would have been older and drafted in 1996 by us we would have had the type of run that the Spurs had.

I don't know, if you look at career Per 36 minute trends, and place Bosh in his Toronto years where he likewise played with pretty poor teams, their numbers are very similar. While Love is a bit better 3 point shooter and better rebounder, Bosh was every bit the efficient scorer, a much better shooter from inside 3, and clearly a better team defender. Both are solid players, but once again show that it is very hard to be the main cog from the PF spot. I think Love and Bosh are a push for that Heat team. In fact, Bosh may have been the better choice (if they had one) given the fact that he chose to allow himself to play the third wheel....which is not something I envision Love embracing.
