Being a west coast guy, I have listened to Mychal Thompson a lot as a radio personality. He is a total front runner and big market guy. His favorite athletes are guys like Muhammad Ali and Deion Sanders. Basically anybody that is self promoting. He's lucky he never met David Koresh or he certainly would have gone down in the Branch Davidian tragedy.

He's also a big market homer. He played most of his career in Portland, but all he ever talks about is his time with the Lakers. He's the type of guy that us current and former MIdwesterners want to smack in the mouth.

This is a poker game now. I could easily see the Wolves floating the Golden State smoke screen out there to get other teams to up the ante. In fact, they should be doing that.

I could still see the G.S. deal going down, and wouldn't be too upset with it, but no doubt the actual deal would be better for the Wolves than the one being reported.

I'm sticking to my guns: Cleveland is going to come in late and offer the #1 pick. But my guess is we won't hear anything about it until it goes down.

Are you guys banking that we'll get the No. 1 pick and that's it from Cleveland? I'm only asking to see where you all are at.

No. 1, Waiters and Thompson is where I'm at.

How do guys like Broussard hear that proposed trade and not laugh in the source's face? GS gets the best player in the deal (a star none the less), the 3rd best player in the deal, more players total to fill their depth and the only first round pick in the deal. We get a role player who has some all-star potential, but not a guarantee and one of the worst contracts in the NBA. He needs to get some new sources because that deal is ridiculous to think MN would ever take it. If Flip panics and takes the proposed deal, we should probably just move to Seattle now. To think that Love wouldn't sign long-term on a team with Curry and Iggy when he would be able to get a 5th year at max money is ridiculous. I would put the chance Love doesn't re-sign with them at less than 5% so that shouldn't come into play at all if I'm Flip. and Golden State isn't negotiating in good faith if they are playing that card as to why they shouldn't be giving up the most in this deal.

Love, K-Mart, JJ for #1, Thompson, Jack, Waiters, Bennett, and CJ Miles (trade works)

If necessary, I would throw in #13 as well. This might be worth ridding us of K-Mart and JJ's contracts. Miles only has one year left. Jack is not the greatest contract but I think he could play a nice role off the bench.

Thompson and Waiters for Love does not work. Cleveland has to return more salary.

I meant main pieces that we'd be going after, but I understand that. Waiters, Thompson, Gee and No. 1 for Love does work. If Martin needs to be involved, there's ways to do that as well. I don't want Bennett or Jack in the deal, though.

I just want to throw out the fact that Klay Thompson is simply a younger K-Mart at best. He is a statistical 1-trick-pony if I ever saw one. Great shooter - check. But he is at the VERY BOTTOM for SG in virtually every other category (rebounding, steals, assists, FT attempts). I am not saying he is a bad player, as I would love to have his shooting, but he is not a franchise guy, or anything even close. Klay is a great role player on a current team that fits to his strengths. He can simply sit outside and snipe all game. He is not equipped to handle the duties of a lead scorer, IMO.

Let's also add in the fact that Barnes was simply one of the worst players in the NBA last season. When he came out in the draft a couple years back, people were concerned about his lack-luster college play, and it has turned out to be a preview to what he has to offer the NBA...very little.

I don't know, this deal doesn't look that great to me. I don't know, I would still be calling Houston about a re-signed Parsons, T. Jones and Asik deal. That seems like a heck of a lot more value than this GS deal.

Dion Waiters or Klay Thompson? Discuss.

I dont hate the Golden state deal if I knew we'd end up in the Lottery next year. This team will still be void of a go to scorer . Peks gonna find the paint a lil more crowded this year without Love pulling bigs out to the perimeter. Im not banking on him being an 18 and 10 guy this year.

In a vacuum just between the two with no picks involved?

I prefer Thompson and don't think it's particularly close. Closer to being a two way player while being the better shooter. If you're worried about Klay's impending contract I don't know what else to say other than Waiters' rookie deal won't last forever.
