I don't see Bazz getting screwed over. While Wiggins and Lavine are the future of this franchise, Bazz is not a cornerstone piece. His skill set is much more limited than Wiggs and Zach and he has two glaring deficiencies. If Bazz can learn to effectively pass and play team defense on a consistent basis, then I'll join the chorus of those who think Bazz deserves more minutes, but I won't hold my breath waiting.

What skill set does Zach have besides an ability to jump high?

Zach hasn't done anything to merit the kind of belief that he'll be a cornerstone piece, yet this organization is practically living and dying with the hope that Zach can one day run point. It makes ZERO sense.

Bazz was playing some pretty solid defense in the last game until he was part of the guys doing the wrong things on those screens. One thing he has improved as an individual defender this year is if it's just him staying in front of a guy he is fine. Throw a screen or him playing off the guy that's when he really gets in trouble. There are signs of progress though. If he can reach the level of Martin has been playing most of this year that wouldn't be too bad. If Martin can do that Bazz should be able to right? Lol

There is no conceivable reason that Tayshaun should ever get twice the minutes of Bazz in any game this year. I was really disappointed to see that. Tay had over 30 mins last game and Bazz had under 20. Sure teach him a lesson for bad play but then bring him back in to show that he's learned. He has a right to be frustrated as I can see it.

According to Sam, players can only develop in the off-season so playing Bazz more won't do anything for his development.

TeamRicky wrote:Lakers and Nets are pretty devoid of talent that could be offered. There is no way way Lakers offer Clarkson, Russell or Randle, but I'd gladly take the Lakers first round pick in 3 years (they traded away this year's first). The Nets have RHJ who I like but doubtful he's available. Jack and Larkin could be useful but these kind of guys should be available in free agency. I'd certainly take the Nets first rounder for Bazz, even if its top 5 protected.

I'm pretty sure BOS owns BKN 1st round picks for the next few years.

I don't know how anyone could read that comment from Sam and still think he has much going on between his ears. Yes, he was condescending. Nothing new there. But the more important and slightly less obvious take-away from Sam's comment is his less than stellar intellect. Wow! He goes from saying he intended to play the young guys so they can develop to saying players only develop during the off-season. Not Sam's first self-contradiction, but a pretty epic one.

You need a change of pace instant offense player - and Bazz is that. What I don't understand I how we see so many stat lines with the guy playing 17-20 minutes and getting 5 shots or less up.

You don't trade Bazz.

Well it looks like the playoffs are out of the question now, time to let KMart, Tayshaun, KG, and Miller rot on the bench and focus on "mentoring". I wanna keep Bazz too, I like his effort on rebounding.

What skills does Zach have besides the ability to jump high? Here you go: (1) great speed/quickness, (2) good ballhandling skills, (3) very good FG shooter (accurate, excellent range, excellent form), (4) excellent FT shooter.

Is Zach a PG? No!! Should the organization be counting on Zach as our future PG? Absolutely not!!! Flip said this past summer that Zach's not a PG. at a recent season ticket holder gathering Andre Miller was asked about Zach's struggles playing PG. Andre responded quickly and emphatically: "Zach's a shooting guard." The only one who doesn't seem to understand Zach's not a PG is Sam.
