With heat losing in the finals, does that increase the chance of cavs trading the 1st pick for love?

Post by worldK »

I dont think miami can recover. Wade is almost done as a star player, injuries and his playing style have really taken a toll on his body. He don't have a jumper to fall back to when he lose his quickness and he miss/sat out a bunch of regular season games to rest. Don't think he can play at a high level much longer. Bosh has been outplayed by an aging duncan and even diaw in the finals. Lebron might be looking to exit after next season. Cavs have openly wanted him back. Love, irving, lebron. Looks more complimentary as a big 3 to me than what the heat has.

Do you think this will push the cavs to roll the dice and trade the number 1 pick to us for love. This trade is still the best value for us in a love trade.

I was thinking the same thing. Not only did the Heat get beat, they got destroyed. The Thunder played the Spurs MUCH tougher than the Heat, and they're going no where but up. Cavs have to know that LeBron will not want to wait for Embiid to develop and Parker or Wiggins would be repetitive.

Kyrie
FA Shooter
LeBron
Love
Varejao

Will be championship ready, far before

Kyrie
Waiters
LeBron
Thompson
Embiid

Can't see LeBron going anywhere besides Cleveland if he leaves the Heat to be honest.

Agreed with everything that's been said so far. The Heat got destroyed and it really showed that Wade's time as a star player in this league is over. Sorry, that's reality. They're only hope is to let the Big Three opt out and then retain LeBron and sign Melo. Yes, letting Wade and Bosh leave. I think the Heat could build around Bron and Wade to stay championship contender. The current team won't get another ring and I think LeBron knows that. If he paired up with Irving and Love, though, he has guys that can score the basketball. Put defensive players around that trio and they're championship quality.

Give me Jabari Parker with the No. 1 pick. Four state championships in high school while playing ball in Chicago. Winner. Great family support system. Killer mentality on the court. Makes his teammates better, something Wiggins can't do yet. Most polished offensive game I've seen from a player his age since at least 10 years ago (Melo; yes, more polished than Durant). I can't say how disappointed I'll be if we're the team that takes Embiid over Parker and are being laughed at like Portland was/is (Bowie over Jordan; Oden over Durant).

I'm rooting for a trade with Cleveland. No disrespect to Love and all the guys who want him to stick around, but Parker's got extreme likability and an elite game to go with it. Team needs a new star. I'll take him.

Personally I think Parker will be there at 3. 76ers want Wiggins so I'd flip 1 for 3 and 10. Get Parker, Stauskas and Payne.
If we get Waiters and Thompson in the deal I'd look to trade Martin and Pek

I do think that comes into play, but I also think that with the combination of Wade fading and Bosh's comments about how this season lacked joy for the Heat and was a grind. I think LeBron takes his talents elsewhere.

I'd try to move Love, Martin, and Barea in the trade to Cleveland. I'm not sure what else we'd have to take back to make it happen, or if we'd have to find a 3rd team, but that's not my job  .

Love, Martin, Barea for #1, Waiters, Thompson, Jack, Zeller would be ideal. Maybe too good for us??

With this lineup, I think it'd be hard for Lebron to pass up the chance to go back and cauterize the bad feelings he left in Cleveland..

Irving/Barea
Martin/Karasev
Lebron/Gee
Love/Bennett
Varejao/

Their bench would need a few good FA signings, but plenty would take paycuts and flock to Cleveland when they saw Irving, Love, and Lebron there..

Pinch me if i'm dreaming a bit too much with that offer..

Rubio/Jack
Waiters/Budinger
Brewer/Shabazz
Thompson/LRMAM
Pekovic/Dieng/Turiaf/Zeller

I think that 2nd unit would be very respectable with Jack running the offense and Dieng protecting the paint. Whoever we draft at #1 and #13 could be taken along slowly and avoid any immense pressure.

I think there's a good chance of that too, but it's been reported that Philly isn't looking to trade 3 and 10 to move up. They want to use Thad Young and 3 to move up, and I'd be good with that deal if Parker's there at 3.

Parker (No. 3), Young, Waiters and Thompson for Love, essentially. That's the best haul possible, in my opinion.

Rubio, Waiters, Parker, Young, Pekovic as the starting unit with Martin, Brewer, Thompson and Dieng off the bench. Would need a backup PG, but that team looks young, competitive and fun to watch.

MS, why would we trade Martin if we're just going to take back Jack's contract? Counterproductive if you ask me. It's easier to find a backup PG than it is a good SG in this league.

There still isn't a team in the east that can beat the Heat. They just went to 4 straight finals. I don't see a team next year that could beat them either. Giving that up to go back to one of the worst run organizations in the league? Pipedream

The spurs also destroyed the Thunder and Blazers. I guess those teams should blow it up too
