The alternative was Dante Cunningham or Luc Mbah a Moute. Your point isn't all that good...

Didn't say he was a great defender. I'd put him at average. He's an elite scorer, rebounder, and passer. To rag on him because he isn't elite in every category when only two other people could be considered elite in everything is just silly.

To further my point, say Love was an elite defender. That would put him right in the conversation for best player in the league. So put that Kevin Love with last years squad. Are they championship contenders? Because if it's not then you have to blame the FO at that point right?

Sometimes you say more by what you don't say at all. No doubt Love wants out. Sad, but I definitely would have a hard time cheering for a guy who doesn't want to be here.

I have to admit, I am surprised that he doesn't think this team has the potential to win (with Dieng, Bazz, a new coach, new PG, etc.). I think it simply comes down to Love's enormous ego:

He wants to get back at Kahn and Taylor for not giving him the 5th year...or...he's like the 18 year old guy who's determined to lose his virginity on prom night just so he feel more even with his peers...and in this case that means Love finding a girl like Derrick Rose or Steph Curry that will surely put out.

I agree with him having average (at best) defense and being elite at scoring, rebounding and passing. I also wasn't ragging on him. I was just saying your point of the Wolves being better on defense when he was on the court instead of off the court was a weak one. It's not like we have a Boozer/Gibson situation at power forward. It's undersized tweener Dante Cunningham that was on the court instead of him. No shit the defense is gonna be better with Love.

I just get the feeling that people think Love is sooo bad at D that he's somehow giving up as much as he's getting on the other end

I don't like Love the person, never have, to entitled. Yet after watching KG spend the best years of his career here and they only managed one decent year I can't really blame Love. look at how badly they've screwed the pooch in using the assets they've had during his six years. This team now has few assets to use to get better and little to no cap space either. Combine that with the fact he wanted to sign a five year extension and how do you put this on him? Do we really expect him to have KG level loyalty? In all honesty KG should have forced his way out of town a few years before he did finally leave.

So Love's gonna be the man in Chicago? More like third wheel

With all of my teams in the various sports, I never cheer for the name on the back of the jersey. I always cheer for the one on the front. Sure I have favorite players, but that pales in comparison to feelings I have for the team. So when Love doesn't buy in to the team he is under contract with, it rubs me the wrong way and I could really care less about him. If you're not for us, you're against us.
