Notice how you don't hear the Heat or Spurs FO throwing out barbs at their players.

Were any of the Heat or Spur players asking to be traded???

About Fllip's comments emboldening potential trade partners I just don't see it. We're not talking about one trade partner, but literally every team in the league would love to trade for this guy, the price isn't going to go up or down drastically either way. Teams are not competing against the Wolves opinion of Kevin, they're competing against other teams who're going to make nice offers for him and they'll have to top that in order to get him. Even so, not the brightest thing to say even if it changes nothing.

Yep he has exceeded most if not all of our expectations. Fans, casual fans especially forget that he came into the league a little bit of a porker. Guy has worked extremely hard to become who he is today.

From an outsider perspective...One of my best friends is from Racine WI and is a Bucks fan. I asked him what he thought about Flip's comments he said he loved him calling Love out and now he really likes Flip. Lol

I like what Flip said and if you really look at the quote it's not even an attack on Love.

Flip said the team can be frustrated but an individual (in this case Love) doesn't have the right to be frustrated, meaning one player is not above the team. Both teams in the finals have great individuals but they rely heavily on team basketball, this is a great philosophy and I hope Flip can make it happen. Also Love is far from a perfect player so if he were to be frustrated I think he needs to look inward before complaining about the things frustrating him.

GS: Kevin Love, Chase Budinger

MIN: Klay Thompson, Harrison Barnes, future GS 1st
Jason Terry (cut), Travis Outlaw (cut), No. 8 pick

SAC: David Lee

Then there's also rumors of a three-team trade with MIN/GS + ORL. It's all about David Lee.

Rubio said he's not interested in a rebuild. He's been a winner all his life before coming to the Wolves. Think Flip's going to go for "ready to play" prospects and help Rubio.

Love the trade idea. David Lee probably kills the deal. As skilled as he is and how great the interior passing would be between Boogie & Lee I just don't see Sacramento taking on his contract and giving up #8.

And as to Ricky, he doesn't have the clout or the leverage to be saying anything along the lines he did. Wolves shouldn't make any short sighted moves to appease Ricky. He's a middle of the road PG who's stuck with the Wolves for another 5-6 seasons barring any trade or him risking the qualified offer.

But I still consider Flip's decision to say what he said publicly an imprudent and inappropriate decision given Flip's position in the organization and the circumstances the franchise currently faces. In addition, I think Alex makes a good point. Although I agree with Flip's team approach and consider Love to be a bit of a whiner, it's hard to blame Love for being frustrated with this organization. I was in the room when Kahn told a large group of season ticket holders that Love was "at best, the 3rd or 4th best player on a championship caliber team. Then there is the list of things that Alex recited. The fair, honest and smart answer to Danny B's question would have been something like the following:

"yes, I can understand why Love is frustrated. He has every reason to be frustrated. But he's not the only one who's frustrated. The other guys in that locker room are frustrated and if they're not they should be. And no one is more frustrated than me".

There was no good reason for Flip to say what he said publicly at this juncture. As for the leverage issue, Flip's comments will likely embolden teams in their negotiations since they will view those comments as further confirmation that the Wolves have no intention of keeping Love. And it further damages the prospect of getting Love to cooperate and work with the Wolves in getting a win-win deal done.

As I mentioned, I think Flip has proven himself to be a good head coach and I'm actually starting to look forward to him taking over on the bench. But I am increasingly convinced that Flip should not be the top executive of this team's basketball operations. In my view, he's not cut out for that sort of position. Even worse now that his time, attention and perspective will be divided between two highly demanding and very different positions.

If Love goes to say, Chicago or even Golden State, wouldn't he be proving Kahn right?

If Rose isn't healthy, Love would be the best player on the Bulls -- second best if Rose comes back healthy. I'd say Love would be the second best after Curry on Golden State's roster.

I'm absolutely sure Kahn saiid 3rd or 4th best player. It's been etched in my mind ever since he made the comment. I remember how surprising it was because even then it was clear he was at least a third best on a championship team with the potential to be more. At the time, Love was already a prolific rebounder at the NBA level and had shown he could score inside and out. But more importantly, our top exec should not have so categorically capped his best player's potential at age 22 to a group of season ticket holders. Combine that with the other things and you can understand why Love might be on a fairly short fuse with this organization.

Love would easily be the best player on either of those teams

On what planet is Love better than a former MVP in Rose and the defensive player of the year in Noah?
