Top tier draft prospects

There will be players outside the lottery that end up having better careers then Gordon.

Aside from tier separation presented out of order. I'll admit I just don't know enough about Exum or Saric. Highlight tapes only mean so much and I can't find any substantial stats for Exum. He really getting all this buzz from U17 and U18 basketball camps? What league did he play in? At least Saric has some Euroball to his name. All I could find of Exum is 8 games in 2012 for U17, 9 games in 2013 for U18, and 2 games as a bench warmer for the FIBA Oceania team. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.

Just basing my opinion on position scarcity. If you think all three may be franchise changing players fine, but I'll take the center.

I see you're worried about his health so I get why you wouldn't have him set aside. I'm just wondering if you're worried about his back then why keep him in your top tier? People can have their concerns but in my opinion you're either "red flagging"/knocking him down a tier or you're taking him #1.

My main purpose to my tiering was to set aside those top 3, but I'd especially want Embiid. I think those that are throwing 4 or 5 players into their top tiers are taking the easy way out. I don't really think picks the top 10 are on that equal of ground so I'm drawing my lines in the sand closer.

That's a fair response. Being more specific with tiers makes your opinions more clear, which is always good. :thumb:

Anybody like Kristaps Porzingis? Kevin Garnett ceiling. One of the youngest players in the draft. Could draft and stash him at 13 and let him build his body and game. Love what his projection could be.

I watched that video earlier today when I posted the http://grantland.com/the-triangle/titus-nba-draft-international-dante-exum-dario-saric-clint-capela-jusuf-nurkic-kristaps-porzingis/Grantland articele He seems like a unique athlete and could be really fun as a match to Ricky. Hard to believe that he would or should go at 13, the risk seems big with him, especially if he can't really put on weight. But he looks fun to watch in those videos.

I think If we trade Love why not? If we don't I'd want someone who can contribute next year. I also think we could trade down to 16 and 19 and get a stash guy.

One reason I do like Gordon is he is praised for his advanced ability to play team defense at such a young age. Nothing really stands out when you look at his physical measurements or stats as a freshman but if you are picking after 10 getting a guy that hasn't turned 19 year that seems likely to be able to play defense seems like at least a good floor. I get what you are saying a guy that doesn't seem to have much of an offensive upside that isn't a big shotblocker and wasn't a bigtime rebounder doesn't sound exciting as a starting PF.

I don't think Gordon will ever make an all-star game or win defensive player of the year. He will be a solid glue guy.

I think Smart is the best player in this draft. I look at him as a more physical Derrick Rose. Teams won't be able to guard him in the NBA. He will be like a shorter Lebron when driving to the hoop. It won't be him absorbing contact. It will be him giving it.
