I guess the Lakers are going all in afterall

Odd move. They would have been better off not signing anyone or offering Gerald Green 7M for 1 year.

Signing Lou Williams makes no sense to me. There isn't going to be enough shot attempts and minutes to go around to appease Kobe, Russell, Nick Young, Lou Williams and Clarkson. That's one congested back court of offensive orientated players.

@WojYahooNBA: Yahoo Sources: As Lakers work to clear cap space to sign free agents and absorb HIbbert, Nick Young is a strong candidate to be unloaded.

Ok if the Lakers can dump Young I will be on board with almost everythig else they did. Lol

I like what the lakers have done so far. yeah the backcourt is crowded but lou williams is a very good player and fit nicely with russel and clarksosn and could form a lethal 3 guard rotation going forward.

Hibbert is a nice get as well. Has the deal to absorb hibbert been finalize yet? If not, they could arrange for a 3 way deal with the mavs that would have ellis go to idiana, hibbert to lakers and jeremy lin and nick young to the mavs.

A kobe-randle-hibbert-russel-clarkson first five with lou and bass off the bench should be fun to watch. Dont expect them to make the playoffs but at least be respectable next season.

In a league in which more teams make the playoffs than miss them I would say a team needs to be in the playoffs in order to be respectable.

As Cam would say, "you're wrong, neener, neener, neener!"

If the Lakers weren't in LA and were in a handful of smaller markets, fans and outsiders would be extremely pleased with how they are rebuilding (two top 6 picks, cap space, solid cheap veterans). But because they are in LA and have a history of success, idiots whoops I mean fans just expect that they are supposed to be a top 5 team every year.

I personally REALLY like their future. 2-3 years from now they could be a major threat to our (potential)
West dominance.

I have to say I am underwhelmed by the Laker's moves. This is the Lakers, not the some run of the mill franchise trying to become relevant. So they signed some decent players. This is a franchise who is used to going out and getting whoever they want. Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Payton, Malone. The fact they weren't able to land an Aldridge or any of the top free agents makes it a poor free agent season for them IMO.

That future is in serious doubt if they lose their pick this coming year (only top 3 protected). Clarkson, Russell, Randle just isn't gonna get it done in the West. Two of those guys will have to become top level offensive players because they all have defensive limitations. This is the West where stars are a requirement to be anything in the conference. The bottom may have weakened a little bit, but the top 5 teams are still ridiculously stacked to beat in a 7 game series in the playoffs with even just a solid team.

LSU's fr Ben Simmons is the prize of next year's draft and he happens to project as a sf which would fill a need. Russell , Simmons and Randlw would be a nice building block. What happens if the Wolves have the injury bug again and find themselves in a position to draft him next year? That's the question . I believe the wolves will be lottery bound one more year but towards the back end. But if key players go down ......

There is no way, as long as Kobe is a Laker, that they intentionally tank for draft position. If he gets hurt, different story.
