Of course the Wolves have been a loser franchise. They rarely have had legit star talent. There are many reasons for that but now they have some legit star talent and it's a stars league. Wiggins, LaVine and Towns are already changing the culture with their attitudes. These are the key ingredients.

I giggled at that part. To be fair, the kid is only 19 years old.

Maybe because it reminds me of Shaq's famous quote: "I've won at every level but college and the pros."

Yeah, I know...but I was just playing off of something his dad said at the end of Summer League. He said Karl lost more games this week than he had his entire life. The adjustment to the strength of the guys he was matched up with was clearly a challenge for Karl, as was losing a couple games...he didn't like losing at all.

Probably kicking a dead horse, but the "KG mentoring thing" goes beyond what he can help teach individuals, I think he represents a key part of breaking the Timberwolves decade long culture of losing, and accepting losing (and yes, I am giving him a free pass last year post all-star break).

I don't think a lot of guys like losing. But it gets easier to handle when you lose 132 over two seasons. Or, when those losses are cushioned by tens of millions of dollars and nearly as many comely groupies... for many guys.

Can u believe in a losing culture and not believe in mentorship from the only player that brought a winning culture at the same time?

I love KG, but he was a total thug in Boston, did we all forget that? Is that part of the mentoring?

A winning culture isn't just brought by a single player, but by a total organization, from the top down. KG can help, but he's just one guy. And most importantly, he won't be on the court more than about 25% of the available minutes.

Jeez that was an unlikeable team. KG, Perkins, Doc, Rondo, Pierce. Just an awful collection of thugs, pricks, and cry babies. Sorry they ever won a title.

That's it! I've had enough!!!

We've been getting along just fine... but if the Celtics don't win that title... the Lakers do. And I can't have that. I CAN'T HANDLE THAT!!!

At least that team, even if they were a bit unlikeable, had a legit "team" thing going on. That Ubuntu stuff or whatever... it was a culture. I actually enjoy it when teamwork wins. Out in LA... you had Kobe Bryant doing his thing, but it always seemed a bit more personal for him... with everybody else just along for the ride. Those Celtics all took sacrifices for the good of the team.

[Note: Remember, I grew up a Celtics fan.]
