Check out the current injury report. The Wolves have 6 players on there, at least 4 of whom will not play tonight. No other team has that many, and yet many of us would describe the Wolves' current situation as "relatively healthy"...it's all about perspective. The Spurs, on the other hand, have nobody on the injury list. Can anyone remember a time when the Wolves had nobody on the injury list?
And that, my friends, defines what it is like to be a Wolves fan.

Don't forget the biggest head scratcher (IMO) - Ronnie Turiaf. Why did he start the year on the roster if he was hurt? I don't think the guy has played a game yet this year. This coming off an off season where he participated in the same military boot camp as Bazz. Then the season starts and he can't play? How could they not know he was hurt and to what degree? Why didn't they keep another big coming into the year knowing he was hurting and Pek's history? When Pek went down, we were left with Hummel and Bennett as your remaining Bigs to go along with LaVine and Brewer as your point guards. I think this whole year was a giant tank.

I'm sure that list is consistent the last 3 years, we've never had a healthy roster. We gotta be last in the league over that period. The AB situation is particularly vexing, he's fighting for a roster spot unless flip has already decided to bring him back next year and keeping him out (not sure if keeping him out makes us better or worse)

It;s not stunning anymore. I'll be stunned when they do things that make sense.
Good point, Wild! This lack of accountability in the Wolves organization is old news by now and, therefore, we shouldn't be stunned by yet another example. Other than changes at the top of our basketball operations, most of the same people are still around, including the same training staff and the same scouts/front office people (1) who advised Kahn to take Flynn over Curry, (2) who advised McHale to take Pek over d'Andre Jordan and sell the other high second round pick we could have used to take Chalmers that same draft, (3) who advised McHale to take Craig Smith in the second round over Millsap, (4) who advised Flip as he chose to sell last year's 27th pick for cash rather than take Gobert, a highly talented center with an astounding 9'7" overhead reach. The list goes on...
So here we are. A franchise that screws up regularly and that hasn't made the playoffs in over 10 years. Yet Rob Babcock and essentially the same scouting staff remain in our basketball ops department. We have the same CEO, Glen's son-in-law Rob Moore. And our new President of Basketball Operations and Head coach, Flip, is a retread from the Wolves past. Any wonder things haven't changed much over the years? Accountability seems to be in relatively short supply in this organization.
Now the good news. In spite of all this, we have one of this year's most promising rookies - a guy who looks like he has a good chance of becoming a star. We had more players in the rising stars game than any other team this season. And we will likely have a top 4 pick in this year's draft. So there is definitely cause for hope in the midst of the incompetence and lack of accountability that have characterized this franchise for so long.

I hate when people look back with the benefit of hindsight and say we should have taken player a instead of player B.

Would you rather we looked back with blinders? Looking back with hindsight is a major staple of every sports message board. But you know what. We are all judged with hindsight in our professional lives. We're a results-oriented society and every organization uses hindsight when judging it's employees, especially it's executives. The NBA isn't and shouldn't be any different. In any event, we're just rubes on a message board having conversations -- looking ahead with foresight and looking back with hindsight.
By the way, Like nearly everyone, I wanted to draft Curry instead of Flynn. I'm also on record wanting to draft D'Andre Jordan with our first pick in the second round that year we took Pek. Some may remember me complaining about the Pek pick that summer. I also wanted to draft Millsap in the second round when we drafted Craig Smith. Millsap was the best rebounder in college at the time and we all know that rebounding is the college stat that seems to transfer best to the NBA. So most of my criticisms of past decisions in this thread are not all hindsight.

I wouldn't really say that it was hindsight. We have routinely blew it when a more obvious choice was on the table.

Lol. You are simply wrong. Nearly everyone wants to read my entire collection of prior pre-draft analyses. It's on its way to becoming a NY Times best seller.
