Corey Maggette
I think they are extremely similar to be honest

Not sure I see it. Maggette was an athletic freak that would drive and get to the line on anyone and everyone. That was his key strength. Not sure I see that at all in Bazz.

hmmm I guess I saw more of his large frame and inviting contact with the ability to finish through it as well as his calling card, someone who gets to the line a ton but needed to become a better passer lol

Bazz is unique in that offensively he has three ways to score: 1) Post ups, 2) catch-and-shoots, and 3) offensive rebounds. On the other hand, he is extremely limited at doing anything off the dribble - passing, pull-up jumpers, drives to the hoop - you name it, he can't do it if he has to put the ball on the deck. And this is all from a wing. Very odd.

I get the Maggette comp because of the strength in which they play.
I thought this article on Tim Howard article about him being successful despite having Tourettes syndrome was interesting and also reminded me of Shabazz since he has it as well. Maybe he should give Howard a call and maybe Howard could help Bazz play defense. Lol

I always thought Bonzi Wells too, but still doesn't fit. Kevin Love might be his best comparison outside of position, size, and passing. .

I can see a bit of Bonzi Wells. And, I thought of a really poor, very poor, like dirt poor version of Adrian Dantley.
Dantley was a 6'5" post guy, essentially. But even then, I don't know if it works. Dantley could pass a bit when he wanted.
I haven't been been much of a Muhammad fan because he has too many glaring holes in his game. He's essentially, a very undersized post player. That won't work with long-term success.

The key for him is to develop a consistent outside shot and learn to play defense. If he can do those two things, in addition to his post game/rebounding, he can be a solid SF. I never see him being a great ball handler or shot maker off the dribble. Too late to develop those skills.

I agree that he is not likely to become a distributor or a guy that creates his shot off the dribble. He also isn't really a mid-range jump shooter, but we all know that is generally not an efficient way to score anyway.
Before Adelman put the brakes on him, he was a good 3-point shooter. And as I have pointed out before, most NBA rookies don't have much success beyond the arc (I think Love was 12%). I expect shabazz to hit threes in the mid to upper 30% range, while continuing to be productive in his four other scoring methods (put backs, baseline baby hooks, cuts to the basket, and fast breaks). And as he begins to work with Rubio more, Ricky will increasingly find shabazz in his effective spots.
Shabazz will be maddening at times with his unorthodox game, but he will score points for Flip.
