I just voted for my own desires for this team and voted deal. I just want this whole Love ordeal behind us and move on. Getting a high draft pick or Klay would certainly raise my hopes for this team for the future but I would even settle for the Bulls offer

If nothing gets done this week, that will be the ray of hope that I will be clinging to.

I am concerned that if a deal is not at least agreed to by the draft, then Flip starts to lose leverage with Golden State. Once Boston, Denver, Chicago, etc., make their picks they are almost assuredly out of the equation. If they are as close as Ford believes, it should not matter much but if they are far apart on the extra pieces in the deal, Golden State could gain an advantage when these teams make their picks.

I agree. But the Warriors are miscalculating if they think they'll get Love for less after the draft. Flip is more than content to keep Love on the assumption that he will coach this team to a level of success that will persuade Love to stay. And he's content with ending up with cap solace if Love walks. That's been my view for some time and what I heard today from some folks I spoke with has confirmed my suspicion. However, I think there's a chance we do a deal with the Celtics if Flip doesn't get the deal he wants from the Warriors. It seems silly to me that the Warriors would pass on the chance to acquire Love over the likes of Barnes or a lottery protected future first.

That is good to know that Flip is not willing to back down, even if he is bluffing, as long as everyone and their mothers believes it. Problem is that I do not feel that keeping Love will turn out well at all. He essentially has moved on from his teammates and that can't be sitting well with them. I think everyone is ready to move on now. I think the Boston deal would be a nice consolation but I really want to get Klay and Lee in here and keep the momentum going.

Phenom - I'm convinced that Flip's not bluffing. That's my concern. I'm afraid that Flip is way too comfortable with the idea of keeping Love next season.

Let's say Flip takes Gary Harris at 13 and signs a legitimate backup point guard (Steve Blake, Greivis Vasquez, etc.).

Would it be fair to say that Flip could get that team to the playoffs?

PG: Rubio/Blake
SG: Harris/Martin
SF: Brewer/Muhammad
PF: Love/Dieng
C: Pekovic/Turiaf

Cam, Blake isn't really a point guard at this point in his career. He's a somewhat valuable combo guard but not much of an upgrade over what we already have. And no, Flip can't get that team into the playoffs in the West. The East maybe, but not the West.

What makes you say that? Guy can still run an offense, move the ball, knock down shots. Think he'd be a huge upgrade over Barea, actually.

That's fair. Why not, though? Won 40 games last year. Is a new coach with better ideas and a better bench not enough for a 10-12 game improvement? I don't think we could possibly have as much bad luck next year, though, we are the Timberwolves...

Steve Blake would be an upgrade over Barea like getting a grade bumped from an F to a D-. He only played, poorly, in 55 games last season due to injury and he'll turn 35 during next season. hope Flip aims better than Blake.

I, too, would be disappointed if we had to settle for Steve Blake as our backup PG. We can do better than that.

Who knew Steve Blake was such a polorizing player? Lol I've been a fan or his for a few years but I forget he is one of those guys that tends to get injured pretty much every year and isn't gettting younger. Last year there were a lot of options at PG even up till around training camp and I think this year will be no different.
