It's will be sad to see him go, but it's coming like a freight train. I'll probably be an Indiana fan, and not because of their record. I was a HUGE Lance Stephenson supporter, I wanted Hibbert, and I was dumbfounded when we turned down the Jonny Flynn trade for the 10th pick that would have netted us George. It's main core now is 3 guys I wanted for this team. A team of Rubio, Stephenson, George, Love, Hibbert would now look like a team of genius. Quite sad that a casual fan can see talent that paid professionals can't see.

Back to the topic, unless they pull out a trade to save the season or get a fire lit under their ass, the Wolves will fail to make the playoffs and the Love train will start it's exit.

How did one become a HUGE Lance Stephenson supporter?

He's turned himself into a very versatile player who's critical to the fortunes of a championship contender... but that's a pretty surprising development.

He was a 2nd rd pick who showed nothing his first two years, before surprising a lot of people last season... and continuing his growth as a player this season.

Heck, he wasn't even likeable as a person. Much ballyhooed as a pre-prep star, the kid hemmed and hawed as possible infractions surfaced nearly everywhere he considered for college. All this while a sexual assault charge hung over his head.

I dig his game now... but he sure seemed like an immature kid for several years. What did you see that hardly anybody else did?

As a person at UC, I guess you could say he wasn't a very likeable person. I wonder if I can go back on the other board that far back and find any posts I made about him. I believe the point I made that made him so attractive to this team was his ability to create off the dribble, meaning his ball handling was very good for a guard with his size. He might have been immature but I just always liked something about his aggression when playing. He always seemed to actually enjoy the game when you heard him talk. There was just something about him that I felt was worth the risk of his potential character flaws. Now, I never thought he'd be doing what he's doing but I at least thought he could be a 15-17 ppg scorer who excelled at attacking the basket. I'm at work now, but when I get home I'm gonna see if the espn board has a search thing where I might be able to find me mention his name.

No need to go through all that work. I was just curious how you came to being a Stephenson guy...

I'm obviously not stating that I am an expert scout, I'm just saying that there's a lot that can be done with the eye test. I think a lot of people saw Stephensons talent but let the off the court issues to make the final say, and you have to when making decisions for a multi million/billion dollar company. So as a fan it's easier to say we need this guy even though he might be a little crazy.

I was a fan of Luke Babbitt as well... So I don't exactly have a spotless record...

I still would have felt the same way as I did about Love if he wouldn't have forced this trade, all he had to do was play one more year and he could walk. That completely changed my feelings towards him towards resentment. This topic was made pre Gorgui coming out part and now we add Lavine and GR3 so I"m a lot more optimistic about our future.

I supported Love as a player on my favorite team but he has had some questionable moments since McHale left that put me off. There has been a culmination of comments or gestures that showed he wasn't all in for Minnesota. That was always in the back of my mind and made it pretty easy to "turn" on him. That said, if he wants to commit to the franchise, that would be fantastic, yet strange, and easily the team's best option and I would still support him.

Alex, my opinion hasn't changed. Do I blame Love for wanting to leave? Probably not...it's his prerogative. Do I think he's a dick? Yes. I thought so at the time of this thread also, but I also had noticed that Kevin had had a pretty good month (for him) in terms of keeping his mouth shut. But his behavior since season end (the Boston trip, his demeanor during the "they" interview, etc.) is so classless it strengthens the negative thoughts I have always had about Love.
