Thanks for the reminder about Sacramento, cam...I do recall that they were willing to give up 8 and unnamed players. I'm not seeing anything in your Boston link though, other than Ainge being open to trading for Love without assurances.
I was taking issue with cool's assertion that flip turned his back on a chance to get multiple picks, because I haven't seen anything real there. I'm confident that if Ainge had really offered Olynyk and multiple first rounders, flip would have taken that...I just don't think they offered anything close. Flip is realistic to know it wont be good to have Love in the locker room next season, but he needs a better return than the crap he was likely offered.
Is the KLove situation repairable?

Wasn't it Houston that said they were out of the running for Love because they couldn't compete with the offers we had? If we had offers better than what Houston was willing to go, it couldn't have been too bad could it? Sorry, I don't have any specific info. Mostly due to the fact that no one tells the truth leading up to the draft. Let's just call it my educated intuition. Love is one of the best talents in the league. He should easily for multiple high picks.

Here's the thing. We only hear what the media says. We don't know anything about what kind of dialogue Love actually had with the Wolves front office. There's more to this whole story than we know. If he's on the team to start the season it'll be because Flip has been given reason to think there's still a chance to keep him long term, that it will not cause problems in the locker room and worst case he trades him at the deadline.

Cool and grey, you're both right that there is a lot of misinformation out there about offers, and we will likely never know exactly what Flip turned down. I am just suggesting a little caution before ripping Flip for turning down deals we "think" were offered.
Grey, I really hope Flip doesn't believe keeping Love won't cause big problems in the locker room. Sports writers are starting to be a little more open about how much Love was and is disliked (Mike Max and Doogie, to name two), and I expect more will come out after he leaves. Our draftees never mentioned him in their PC, and even Saunders isn't saying much about him. He may start the season with us, but he needs to go as soon as possible.

Yeah if he's seen as a problem or has zero chance to resign long term then there's no way they keep him to start the season. It would be stupid to do so.

I'm sure all of you were shocked...shocked to hear Mr. Class Kevin Love has dropped out of the celebrity softball game all star weekend. Says he has "another commitment".
What a pussy! Obviously he was afraid of getting booed.

What if this was actually a classy move? Maybe he didn't want the softball game to be all about him and answering questions about what team he was gonna play of etc. No I don't really believe that he is being a nice guy not going but obviously all things considered showing up for something like that probably wouldn't be as enjoyable as it would be otherwise. Just being devil's advocate. Lol

Good point, monster...I suspect there's a little of both in Love's decision.
