KG may wear #2 as tribute to Sealy

If Garnett is in fact wearing No. 2 to honor former St. John's star - and former T'Wolves teammate - Malik Sealy, that's really cool.
Not that it means much but it'd be a nice gesture.

Here is the full article:
After six seasons in Boston, Kevin Garnett officially became a member of the Brooklyn Nets today. In a pretty awesome gesture, it was revealed that Garnett would wear #2 in Brooklyn to honor former teammate Malik Sealy, who was killed by a drunk driver back in 2000.
KG and Sealy were teammates for two seasons (1999-2000) with the Minnesota Timberwolves. On May 20th, 2000, after attending Garnett's 24th birthday party, Sealy was was tragically killed by a drunk driver while heading home from the party in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
The 30-year old Sealy, who already had eight years of NBA experience under his belt, was hit head-on by Souksangouane Phengsene, whose pickup truck was going the wrong way on a Minnesota highway. Phengsene was found to be intoxicated and sentenced to four years in prison. He's had two subsequent DWI convictions and is currently serving another eight years.
It's a sad story but, after many speculated that Garnett would return to jersey #21 that he wore with the T'Wolves, a really classy move by KG.

KG is an a-hole sometimes, but I must admit that he is as loyal as they come.

I still get a lil worked up when I drive by the spot on occasion. It almost seems subconscious because I don't realize why at first. Kind of strange that someone you don't know personally or for that long even can have an effect on you like that.

Sealy gave the Timberwolf fans hope, that is why. KG was the big boost of hope, but Sealy and his personality was something that brought it to a new level.
