Ronny Turiaf

Post by Jakapoo [enjin:6588675] »

@daldridgetnt: Agent Mark Bartlestein says F Ronny Turiaf will sign with the Timberwolves.

Ugh, Chris Johnson shall not get playing time.
At least Turiaf is a strong guy with a good heart. Very loyal... Still like the athletic high flier though. :/

Edit 2 year 3.2MM

I don't even want Turiaf. I hope Chris Johnson puts on a show in Vegas.

Not a bad signing guys. Turiaf is a good shot blocker and energy guy. Adelman wanted more vets, and he will be a vet that can take the rookie ding under his wing. Good 3rd string center. Johnson is more of a pf than a center. He just doesnt have the frame to play center full time. He will be fine as a 3rd string pf behind love and dante.

I wanted the Wolves to sign a Vet PF/C and so Turiaf fills that void and pretty cheap price. I wasn't sure if he could still play but in the past he was a good defender and played in Nelson's offense and was known to be a good passer in that system if I remember right. Only 30 so not super old but gives us a vet insurance if Pek goes down for an extended stretch. I wouldn't worry about him playing much but if he is the worst big on the team we may be even deeper than we were last year especially with Johnson claiming he gained weight. I like the move I am not blown away but we probably weren't getting Brandon Wright or some more exciting option.

I like the signing. Turiaf is hardnosed player, and accepts his bench role, while delivering quality minutes.

I am just thankful that Flip ran out of salary space or Turiaf may have signed for 3 years and 15 mil!

It looks like we are three deep at every position now

PG: Rubio/Barea/Brown
SG: Kmart/Bazz/Shved
SF:Dwill/Bud/Brewer
PF: Love/Cunningham/CJ
C: Pek (assuming he is back)/Dieng/Turiaf

I'm OK with this. energy, practice and lockerroom guy. Also back up as Deng learns NBA. Hopefully will be a good role model/mentor to the younger guys.
