Metta World Peace

Post by kekgeek »

Metta is getting amistied by the Lakers, I can't believe that I am saying this but I want him. I don't think AK will be back, and I don't expect him back, so we need a good wing defender. He can't shoot, and he has struggled offensively all around for the last two years but he is still a top 10 defender in the NBA, and he does not have to play as many minutes as he did for the Lakers. He also has a Adleman connection. I think I want Metta, assuming AK won't be back.

What do you guys think?

No thanks. Now if anybody can find Ron Artest I would consider signing him!

I hope they make a small bid for him. Even on the wrong side of 30 and barring the return of AK47 he'd easily be their best defensive wing. Certainly wouldn't want to start him, but to get spot minutes off the bench if someone is absolutely out matched on the defensive end? Sure.

I can't believe I am saying this, but he is still a top defender in the league, and is very under-rated due to the fact that he is a "shell" of his former self. He is also less insane than he used to be.

I don't see too many better options out there honestly. Metta would give us what we need the most, someone to shut down the opposing SF. We would be getting him cheap for only a year and if it doesn't work out at least Shabazz will get a year of experience without being forced into filling a role he is unprepared for.

How many people can this roster hold? They're going to get stuck with JJ, Luke and Williams because nobody will bite.

OMG, do the sign and trade deal rumored with OKC for Martin so we can move some salaries and bring back AK. Metta would be a very distant second

100% agree, AK gives us a shot in the West (yes I mean winning it), Artest makes us a good playoff team, maybe win a series but we will give other teams a fight
