Minnesota, Nikola Pekovic getting closer on a four-year, $50 million contract extension, league sources tell Y! Sports.
About what I figured, 12-13 million. It would have been easier to swallow for two reasons: If they didn't just give Corey Brewer about 5 million a year and if they had matched an offer sheet.
I thought they'd have to match an offer that was a tad rich but they offered one themselves. Oh well, I'm happy he's on board. Now here's to his health and hoping that he still looks underpaid the next 4 seasons.

Pek said he wanted to play for the Wolves and the Wolves made him a darn fine offer. No need for other teams to make an offer. Now if they had low-balled him....maybe another team would have jumped in?

I love Pek, but that stings. 12.5 (if that's true) per year for a guy who hasn't played a full healthy, productive season. Even Darko Milicic thinks this is too much. But le'ts hope he can smash productively for 4 years.

We are yet to see what a fully healthy front court of Love and Pek can do. I for one am very excited, and think these two will be unstoppable on the offensive end and on the glass. Heres hoping they both stay healthy. I'm predicting they will combine for 40pts / 25 boards a night.

Agreed Kiwi. I've been saying this, but in my opinion, Love/Pek are the best 4/5 combo in the NBA. Better than West/Hibbert, Boozer/Noah and whoever Houston pairs up with Dwight. I've had people disagree with me, but those two are relentless on the boards and their offensive game's compliment each other's.
Needless to say, I'm undoubtedly excited for next season. Especially with all the off-season additions.
