Good for him. That's a lot more than he's worth, but I can't get upset at a mid-level guy getting paid.

Rosas should let him walk and find a backup point guard elsewhere.

Let him go. For all the good he does as a backup, if you're gonna pay that much to Jones, they're better off starting him and seeing whether he's good enough for this team to not have to draft a PG next year.

This team flat out sucks in terms of backcourt shooting and Jones simply doesn't help. Teague's probably our best shooter and he doesn't wanna shoot.

In 34 career starts, he's a 30% three point shooter and averages 10.6 ppg and 6.6 apg. That's not worth $9 mil a year. Might as well go out and offer Trey Burke a deal and focus resources on seeing how fast Jaylen Nowell can progress.

Let him walk. 24-28m for 3 years is too much for tyus.

Man that sucks. I'll be surprised if they match that...I want to because I like Tyus and we have nobody to groom at that position now but that's just too much money. It's kinda weird Memphis is ponying up that much money for a backup PG.

So...who can we get as a backup or at least a 3rd PG behind Napier? Jeremy Lin? Shelvin Mack? Make a trade? It would have been nice to know we needed someone earlier. Oh well.

Damn, yeah.. that's just not worth matching unfortunately. If Memphis is giving him that much I wonder if they want him to start to ease the rookie in and take off some pressure

I hate to see him go. I think he's undervalued by fans and most on this message board. His defense, steals, assist to turnover ration and plus/minus are all very good compared to the rest of the team. And he's still only 23 years old. I'll add that the Grizzlies organization seems to have a good eye for talent. As much as I like Tyus, that's a lot of money for a backup PG who isn't a good 3-point shooter. I'm sure the Wolves won't match.

Here is a tweet from Tyus's agent. I'd say it's pretty unlikely we are matching.

Ready for a great new opportunity. Congrats to my man @1Tyus
