A couple draft guys that watch a lot of film and some have seen these guys in person said one of their biggest knocks on Naz Reid was he just doesn't get a lot of lift. I think that's is accurate. When he has some momentum then he can get up a bit more but just standing and jumping it's below average. Dropping some weight may help and just maybe having a maturing body but it's an issue as he stands now. He was a mixed bag in this game.

We finished runner up yet I find it overall meh or even disappointing. I was hoping Okogie and KBD would have showed better. I think this is a time where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and perhaps, Prigioni is a bright spot. Sure guys like Martin, McLaughlin, Reid and Creek played well, but none of them are likely to be impactful NBA players.

I can't believe Clarke lasted til 21 and right now he is looking like the steal of the draft.

Clarke looked good no doubt but the last 3 summer league MVPs are Hart, Ball and tyus. Arguably 3 nba bench players

Ball has been hurt and will have every chance to be a starter with the Pelicans. Tyus may start this year for Memphis and I wish the Wolves kept and started him over Teague. I will agree that summer league stats don't mean a whole lot, especially positive summer stats (Kris Dunn for example). I think bad summer stats are definitely not good, especially from second year players like Okogie or KBD who should dominate lesser competition. The preseason stats are much more reliable indicators.

The deal with Clarke for most was that he looked like he'd find time on the court with good defensive instincts and great athleticism. Good work ethic. Hard worker. Smart. The rub was that he didn't measure as tall as people would like.

You almost hope for a guy like that to succeed, right? Here he's doing the right things, but the primary thing potentially holding him back is genetics.

I know I sorta advocated for him... as much as I advocate for anybody in the draft (it's not really my bag). We'll see what happens. He won't be THE guy, the question is whether he'll be good enough to be a complementary piece on a good to very good team.

FWIW a non-Wolves perspective on Naz Reid's summer league.
