As I indicated in another post, I'm convinced that Russell is going to sign with the Wolves as his first choice. The only remaining questions are: (1) what teams will be involved in clearing cap space for the Wolves; and (2) who/what the Wolves will need to give up to make it happen?

I think Knicks, clippers, and the lakers (maybe the mavs?) are the only teams left with 20+ in capspace.

I can see maybe the Knicks taking teague, but thats about it.

Any other team, and I think we have t take back salary in any deal involving teague, dieng, or wiggs.

Edit:

Cap space has dried up VERY quickly around the league. The only teams who have $20M+ left:

Clippers, Knicks, Lakers and Mavericks. Couple others could get close, but those are the only 4 teams there at the moment.

I'm not gonna claim to understanding the intricacies of the cap. But I know the league well enough to know it's gonna be extremely difficult to off load any of Wig, Teague and Dieng, below average players making money aren't highly coveted. Good luck Rosas, I'm praying for you!

Some guys got more money than expected. Redick is the guy I consider the biggest bargain. David Griffin is absolutely killing it as the Pels GM. That team could easily make the playoffs this year no joke.

Rubio 3 years 51 million?!?!?!? I seriously can't believe that one.

EDIT: The only thing more mind baffling today than the Rubio deal was the Thai Rolled ice cream my wife and I had after the movie. It was supposed to be key Lime pie but it basically didn't taste like anything.

That actually seems fairly reasonable.

I agree, Duke. That's why I keep coming back to my 4-way idea involving the Lakers and Cavs. My idea, of course, hinges on the Lakers coming up empty in their pursuit of big-time free agents. The optimal landing place for Wiggins is a team that's young and rebuilding and that has a big long-term contract with a player who is on the back-side of his prime. Wiggins isn't worth his contract, but Love is a terrible fit for the Cavs. At the same time, Kevin Love is an allstar caliber PF who is still among the League's best rebounders and a terrific 3-point shooter. He's still in his prime, albeit on backside. But LeBron is 35 years old and he has the Lakers in full win-now mode. Wiggins to the Cavs, Love to the Lakers, Russell to the Wolves and future picks to the Nets (a future 2nd from the Wolves and 2 future 2nds from the Lakers). Now get it done, Rosas!

A bit of a homecoming for Taj too. That's Good money for Taj. I think he could have ended up with less.

Why didn't we extend him a 1qualifying offer? He played well for us.

There is no qualifying offeres for guys like that its for younger players. Besides even if there was it would have been a massive number. Taj's cap hold was over 18 million.
