Tyus Jones is the better player of the two right now as evidenced by their respective advanced stats. But Mudiay's upside seems much greater to me. Compared to Tyus, Mudiay appears to be much longer and far more athletic. At the same time, Mudiay is a terrific ballhandler and excellent penetrator. He's a better finisher than Tyus as well. I have a high opinion of Tyus - higher than many on this Board. But Mudiay's potential, in my view, far exceeds the potential of Tyus given Mudiay's far more impressive physical profile.

These are the "bottom of the barrel", "bargain shopper's delight" type free agents that I'd have interest in, especially the ones with stars next to their names.
I like Davis and O'Quinn as bargain delights. Both could be good role players at bargain prices. I don't think Taj will come at a bargain price and I'm not even sure about Davis. O'Quinn on the other hand should be a vet minimum contract. I like Core Joseph as a potential bargain acquisition.
Overall, whether it's O'Quinn, Ed Davis or Cory Joseph, I'd call them bargains, but not necessarily delights. For me a bargain delight is someone with elite upside who has been overlooked or dismissed based on a few seasons of stalled development. Mudiay stands out as someone who fits that bill. You might be right that some other team will give him a non-bargain contract. But I don't think so. Teams looking to win right away won't touch him. And teams rebuilding will look primarily to their draft picks and undrafted free agents and the acquisition of future picks while maintaining cap flexibility. I think there's a window of opportunity to sign Mudiay for a reasonable price.

Some of the guys in this thread are lower tier guys as teams aren't going to make them the first call but I don't know if they are gonna all be bargain guys. I think some will get paid about what they are worth. Of course you could actually term that a bargain especially if you have a FA like 2016! lol
Kyle O'Quinn would be a nice fit as a compliment to whatever we do here BUT it's worth remembering that apparently he has some issues as a teammate etc. Apparently there is a reason he keeps getting cheaper contracts. Buyer beware.
Mudiay falls into a category of if he is cheap he is young so why not? 3-4 million a year or even just a 1 year deal? Maybe he doesn't have high upside. Maybe he is just a backup combo guard? The only harm in that type of deal is if he actually sucks you could have given the opportunity to someone else. It seemed like last year with the Knicks there was some signs of him actually turning into a worthwhile player. Before that it sounded like he was pretty bad. I'm not playing him 5million to find out he sucks. If someone else comes in with a Hezonja offer like last year I'll move on to the next guy which as Cam brought up might be Burke. He got injured but out of principal I wish we had signed Seth Curry a few years ago. I wonder what kind of money he is gonna get.
Portland is one team that signs guys that weren't particularly good and gets a solid rotation guy. They get these guys for peanuts (helps offset the money they pay a guy like Turner) and it really helps. You can sign those guys and they don't have to be possible stars to be really valueable. Covington and Danny Green are at worst really good role players. I'd say those guys are sort of core pieces not top 3 guys (Covington Maybe if healthy and the right roster) but you need those guys to win...or they can be traded for an opportunity to get a top core piece. We need to be like the team that signs the minor league reliever and turns them into a bullpen staple instead of signing guys that basically are just dudes on the roster till we move on from them.

76ers biggest issue is that Simmons doesnt do that, Butler made up for that - they will never win with Simmons being the primary ball handler.
....Denver did pretty well without one. While the Sixers may struggle to win a title, I'd take their 50+ wins!
Ed Davis for me. I think he'd be a nice defensive/rebounder type to put next to KAT in the starting lineup without spending a bunch of money. Then we can go small later in halves when KAT could be more aggressive defensively.

Jokic is Denver's primary ball handler for all intensive purposes. He just doesn't run the ball up the court.
And 76ers still lost despite having 4 all-stars, one of which might be the most dominant big man in the game. If they lose TH and JB - they are a pretty flawed team.

You mentioned Dedmon before. On the Lowe podcast they said he is a guy a lot of teams are talking about. Lowe seemed a bit surprised but basically said it sounds like there wi be teams lining up to give him a full mid-level deal. So yeah Davis might be a good option.

Because he panics with the ball in his hands once he picks up his dribble. He starts frantically swing his arms around and rarely makes the correct outlet pass - nor have I ever seen him successfully pass the ball once he starts driving.
