Finch hitting all the right buttons. Juancho and Vando have been given new life of late.
That Edwards explosion for 15 points in 5 minutes to start the 4th was ridiculous. Impressive stuff and basically broke the game open.
Golden State isn't scary, but like Utah, they are trying to win and had the best player on the floor. We beat them with a great team effort. Great W!
Wiggins returns GDT
Re: Wiggins returns GDT
Just finished watching this game.
Wiggins had a really nice game and the Warriors lost.
Bazemore it felt like he had like 12 fouls and a few were kinda dumb.
I liked seeing Juancho play some 3. It was cool to see the Wolves be a team out rebounding someone else but it wasn't just length they have guys going after balls. Vanderbilt got to some balls tonight that was pretty impressive and a couple were key to build the lead towards the end of the game.
Edwards had a nice flurry in the 4th. Rubio was on fire earlier.
It just feels like I watched a team that doesn't suck. It was kinda exciting and much better than meh. Lol
Edit: I thought McLaughlin played just fine. Yes he had some turnovers but that's somewhat uncharacteristic for him. He also had 8 points and 4 rebounds in 12 minutes. Its interning he is still getting run and I am still interested to see more of him and since Culver is out for the season it looks like we will. I just kinda want to see whether he is worth keeping around or move on. I'm on the fence.

I don't see him as a player worth of a max contract and I have no doubt we gave up too much to get him. But he strikes me as a good teammate. And when his shot is falling, he can be lethal. If it were up to me, I'd shop him this summer. But I don't see a realistic potential deal out there and, in any event, I don't see Rosas trying to move him
100% he did not play good but he played well in the 1st and got the Wolves going when they fell down 14-7 early.
Now Dlo was not good but I think the threat of Dlo opened a lot up for Naz and Hernangomez.
Do I think he is a max player probably not but I do think he can really help the twolves win
I didn't pay attention later but early on Russell was playing some worthwhile D. He didn't box out when someone got an easy put back later in the game though. Ultimately the Wolves won and he was a part of that. I haven't been watching games but him being willing to come off the bench seems like a good thing even if it isn't a long term thing. There have been some VERY good even HOF players that have spent a lot of their time coming off the bench so if you actually have the talent to keep him there that would be amazing and he MIGHT actually be ok with it.

Late Night/Early Morning DVR Review:
- Wiggins being Wiggins. Ugh. And... LOL. Have fun with that guy, Warriors fans.
- Green got in Towns's head a bit... but Towns persevered and didn't melt down.
- Rubio and Russell sort of switched roles last night. Rubio's shooting was fun to see... and huge. You can see how teams defend the Wolves and it's usually Rubio/Okogie open on the swing. Good for Rubio to nail those. (Like others, I dig Russell off the bench.)
- The two 4th quarter hand grenades from Edwards to Towns were funny. You could see it a little bit on the telecast, but I'm pretty sure the veteran was talking to the rookie about this after the game, too. We all know most NBA players know their stats... and care about that stuff. A rookie messing up Towns' stats TWICE in 3 minutes gets a scolding. (It also shows that Edwards cares about his stats, too?)
- Speaking of Edwards... there was a moment in the 4th quarter after he made a couple of buckets... when EVERYBODY watching knew no other Timberwolves player was touching the ball the next possession. Sure enough... he ate 20 seconds of the clock and took an off-balance fadeaway with no chance to go in. I groaned.
BUT... I started to think about whether I would have done the same if it was Curry or Harden or Doncic or whoever. Now granted, obviously Edwards isn't remotely close to any of those guys yet and very very probably never will be. But, he did stay hot through the 4th quarter. And whether I dig it or not, there's a place for that type of play (and mentality) in the NBA. Edwards staying aggressive made the difference down the stretch. The key will be how he learns to balance those moments... how he can start using the extra attention to set up others... and how does he adjust when the shots stop going in. And all that comes in time. Hopefully.
- Hernangomez continues to look like a viable NBA player. He grabbed a hustle offensive rebound late in the first half that was very impressive.
- McDaniels... every once in awhile he makes a nice play that reveals his court awareness. Last night, he caught the ball on a cut to the hoop... with two guys there... he passed it immediately in mid-air behind him to Hernangomez. He knew he was there... Great play.
- The Warriors are so very mediocre or even lousy... without Curry. Even a guy like Kelly Oubre out of the lineup is noticeable.
- I didn't notice the Wolves outrebounded the Warriors 57 - 34! But nice job. Kerry came out and ripped "modern players" for not boxing out. And that's sort of funny/ironic because I noticed during the game how Green kept Towns at bay multiple times with a box out. Apparently, he wasn't consistent with it... or the scorn was directed elsewhere.
- 4 in a row... the Wolves are taking away some of my best material. Keep it going...

Re: Wiggins returns GDT
Boy, Abe is turning into a new man with all these wins!
The Edwards mini-explosion was fun to watch and when you see him just do whatever the hell he wants to score 15 points n a 5-minute span it kind of leaves your jaw dropping a bit given that he's a 19-year old rookie.
Of course he inevitably rides his own hot hand too long and ends up taking some ridiculous shot or freezing out an open man.
But still....He shows flashes of being able to impose his will on a game in a way no other Timberwolf is capable of doing, including KAT and DLO.
