I hope he does well. It will be interesting to see what the details of the contract are and therefore if he makes the team.

Glad he was given another opportunity somewhere else. Personally, he didn't do it for me here. He didn't make enough shots and he wasn't worthwhile defensively, but not for lack of effort. Kudos to him for that.

It'll be interesting to see who the Wolves wind up with on that second two-way deal. I hope they're not hoping for Jordan McLaughlin to be that guy. I'd feel more comfortable signing him to the NBA roster and taking a swing on another big. Minnesota needs to take a chance on a Christian Wood type player and see if he can be better than Jarred Vanderbilt and Jaden McDaniels, which isn't a high bar to meet and exceed.

I agree with you about JMac. I'll be disappointed if the Wolves don't sign him to the regular roster. And like you, I'd love to see the Wolves take another shot at a young undrafted big, although I'm not sure who that might be. The one thing this front office has done well so far is find some pretty good undrafted young talent like Naz Reid, JMac and Kelan Martin. I'm actually sorry to see Martin go. I have a higher opinion of him than you as a fit for the Wolves. But I'm also a bit biased because we got to meet his parents in Vegas at the Summer League in 2019. Great family.

I wanted the Wolves to take a gamble on Dedric Lawson last year and he's available again this off-season. Super versatile big that went undrafted out of Kansas. Golden State gave him a look on their Summer League team. San Antonio signed him last year and let him get some burn in the G-League where he didn't disappoint. That would be my first choice.

And that doesn't surprise me to hear about Kelan Martin and his family. He seemed like a high character guy from everything I read and saw even back to his days at Butler.

Did you see that the Spurs signed Keita to a two way contract? Frankly I'm surprised that Kelan got an NBA contract and Keita only got a two way.

Keita on the Spurs is a perfect fit. Really solid role player

Lawson would be a great choice. Regarding Kelan, we noticed a couple across the isle from us cheering loudly for the Wolves and the seemed to be focused on Kelan although not entirely. My wife went over and asked if they knew on of the Wolves players. They told us they were Kelan's parents. His dad was beaming with pride. We talked for a while and they actually thanked us for coming over to talk with them.

My interest in Kelan was triggered by his Vegas Summer League performance. He was knocking down 3's and rebounding his position really well. He was the exact kind of guy we needed to play that big 3/small 4 'tweener type of position backing up Covington or pushing Okogie for minutes. He also hustled his ass off on defense, even if that wasn't what brought him here.

So what happened!? Well, the same damn thing that always seems to happen. He couldn't effing hit a shot when he got to the NBA level. And he wasn't good enough in the other facets of the game to make up for it. He was a shooter in theory that could never make it happen in reality. I'm sure he'll find his shot with his next team!
