Fun question. Who did NOT make my top-30 that you think is most deserving?

Gopher fans, what about local kid Daniel Otoro? Sounds like a late first rounder and likely gone if we keep #33. If we go with a guard or wing with 1st pick, should we go after him?

I have Daniel Oturu as a second-round guy, but I could see a team talking themselves into him in the bottom of the first-round. I'd rather the Wolves go in a different direction, however.

Not out of your top 30 but I think Cole Athony is way to low. Its almost a Shabazz play all over again I think he goes in the Late teens. Watching him at NC he had no help there and was injured riddle. I think hes a great shot in the dark like Michael Porter was a couple years ago.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Big Board
I watched a video of Oturu's workout. He hit A LOT of three pointers in a row.
I know it's only a workout. And I know it was edited.
But I also know that I've been playing a lot of basketball for (xx) years... and I'd need A LOT of editing to look that good shooting. And he's not even considered a great shooter.
I just saw something about Markus Howard, the sharpshooter Jimmer Fredette type guy from Marquette. The guy averaged 28ppg and shot above 40% on high volume three pointers in college for all four years.
I've played with and against D1 guys a bit long in the tooth. And certainly not that caliber of athlete. I can't even imagine that a guy like that does in an open gym pickup game type of situation.
These people are not like us.

I'd be very surprised if he goes anywhere near the lottery. Very inconsistent freshman season despite the injury. Defensive effort was lacking. Shot selection was poor. He's a shot maker, but probably better suited off the bench. I guess we'll see! I'm sure there will be plenty of surprises tomorrow night!

I've been fortunate -- or unfortunate, really -- enough to get some runs in against guys that were at the time suiting up for the Florida Gators men's basketball team. I'd consider myself a decent pickup basketball player -- one of those that has no glaring weakness besides being under 6'0" without superb athleticism. Dunking a basketball would be a dream.
But anyways, yeah, those guys are entirely different than those of us that play weekly pickup or whatever. Guys that don't shoot and make threes in actual games end up becoming Ray Allen in empty gyms and pickup games. One, they're in the gym a lot more than normal people are. Two, they're obviously more talented. Three, they've had professional coaching at a high level. It's one thing to watch those guys play in person, but it's entirely different when you're on the court having to defend one of them.

I work with a guy that played a handful of games in a division I program a number of years ago. Dude looks to be in incredible shape and looks more like a LB than a guard. It reminds me of years ago seeing Mateen Cleaves warming up before an NBA game and seeing how jacked that guy was. It was always hilarious (And super annoying) when some guys I went to college with thought they would have any chance of doing anything against the worst NBA basketball player. They didn't even make the our small college basketball team. Lol
Re: 2020 NBA Draft Big Board
1. James Wiseman - Rare combination of elite length and athleticism. I also think he has high drive & IQ
2. Okongwu - Not as long as Wiseman, but laterally quicker with great hands, High IQ and all about wins
3. P. Williams - Raw, but immensely talented. Yes, great size/athleticism. But also great feel for the game
4. Haliburton - Maybe most complete player in the draft. Super high basketball IQ, excellent length.
5. Deni Advija - Fierce competitor with swagger. Terrific ball-handler and passer in 6'9 frame.
6. Isaac Okoro - Has everything (IQ, competitiveness, ball-handling, athleticism) except shooting.
7. Tyrell Terry - I'm convinced he's going to be great. #7 might be too low. Think Steph Curry.
8. Devin Vassell - So solid. Can't miss 3&D guy with potential to be more.
9. Obi Toppin - Looks like he'll be a force offensively. But his defensive is really poor.
10. Saddiq Bey - Super solid rotation role player in the NBA. Can't go wrong with him.
11. Kyra Lewis - Reminds me of Mike Conley with his speed and all-around PG abilities.
12. Killian Hayes - Reminds me of DLO, but not as talented.
13. LaMello Ball - Had to put him in lottery on talent. He's a gym rat so maybe less bust potential than AE
14. Anthony Edwards - Tremendous physical talent and some nice skills. But reminds of JR Rider.
15. Precious Achiuwa - Love his motor, athleticism and size. Needs to develop skills
16. Aaron Nesmith - Although his season was cut short, you can't ignore 50% 3-pt shooting on high volume
17. Tyrese Maxey - Love his motor. Not super talented but he'll will himself to be a solid NBA player
18. RJ Hampton - Sort of an enigma to me. Not sure why he avoided college. But great athlete with skills
19. Jalen Smith - Maybe should have ranked him higher. Can't ignore 10+ boards and 2+ blocks per game
20. Desmond Bane - Looks like an NBA player to me. Excellent shooter with other skills.
21. Cassius Stanley - Maybe best athlete in draft - 50" vertical. Also very smart with good skills.
22. Cole Anthony - Not a fan, but he's definitely a first rounder
23. Tyler Bey - Super competitive. Another guy likely to will himself to becoming a good NBA player.
24. Tre Jones - Better than his older brother. Looks like a solid NBA PG.
25. Paul Reed - Can't ignore his steals and shot blocking stats. Very quick. Seems to have great motor
26. Jahmius Ramsey - Productive in college and excellent athlete
27. Grant Riller - Maybe sleeper of the draft
28. Leandro Balmero - If he could shoot, he'd be much higher on my board.
29. Josh Green - Love to play defense. Great athlete. Has makings of a very good 3&D guy
30. Theo Maledon - Wasn't sure where to put him. Had to put him in first round in honor of TP.
31. Xavier Tillman
32. Grant Riller
33. Aleksey Pokusevki
34. Daniel Oturu
