Obviously, the Wolves need bodies. Guys who can play. As a huge advocate of trading down for more assets... what were the odds Edwards would still have been available at #3?
Word on the street (Lowe, Givoney and Marks) indicate GSW were debating between Ball and Wiseman... Edwards was not in their plans.
I like this team more even if it was only Bridges added to the mix.

I mean if you are GS are you taking Edwards or Ball? I honestly don't know the answer which is why I think Rosas didn't trade with Charlotte. Edwards fits that team as a 6th man scorer more than Ball as a 6th man creator IMO and they were looking for immediate help. Edwards also has the superior physical profile. Ball is never filing out to look like that. Edwards would seem like the perfect developmental player they could have added to that team for long-term elite potential and especially with Klay going down right before the draft I think that ends up being a slam dunk Edwards pick. Then we are staring down Ball at 3 and that would have been a disaster. After last year's draft trade not going exactly how he wanted I'm not surprised he didn't pull the trigger at the end of the day and just took the guy he wanted.

I can see not wanting to get burned twice in two drafts.
And IF it's true that they ranked Edwards way ahead of everybody else... it's not worth the risk. But if they were "meh" at all... there's no way they couldn't trade down again at #3 for yet another starter.
They went the safest route for the home run pick. If it pans out, nobody will care that they didn't get a decent but not great asset as well. If it doesn't pan out... Rosas is fired anyway.
Huh... So, Anthony Edwards was asked on The Jump if he's made contact with Karl-Anthony Towns or D'Angelo Russell since he was drafted. He said that he talked to D-Lo last night and this morning. Has Towns just not reached out yet or am I reading too much into that answer? Seems odd for the best player on the team to not reach out to the newest pick.

I think Towns is just checked out for now until basketball is back. He had a rough offseason so I think he should get a pass for little things like this. If he comes into camp with the wrong attitude then this is gonna go south quickly, but I think he should spend the offseason to just check out and get his mind right after he lost his mom and come back ready to play.

I think its fair. I was waiting for some sort of news about Towns reaching out. This is Towns moment. Hopefully the mantle of leadership is something he embraces. But yeah it seems like he could care less about basketball for a bit. Not the news I was hoping for.
Maybe Towns was filming a Kardashians segment or something?
[Note: Social media sucks balls. BUT... if you're extremely active on it... and you're suddenly conspicuously absent from it... yeah. I can see why it would get noticed.]
This won't be popular but don't give up on McDaniels before he gets a chance to compete. He's a good player who has a real chance to be a contributor. I wouldn't bet a lot of money on it, but I'm looking forward to seeing how he does.

I agree that it's too early to give up on a young kid. He's immensely talented and full of athletic potential.
But he was objectively a bad basketball player playing for a bad basketball team last season.

I've never heard of a college player racking up 6 techs in a season either so he clearly has some composure issues out on the court.
