Haha, summed my feelings up well when I read the title.
I know nothing about the guy but when you see the Spurs name attached to him it's tough to not be optimistic.

Sounds like a good hire actually. I thought I saw a tweet another team was looking to get him for a similar position but I could be wrong. I read somewhere he is a bigtime analytics guy. One thing I think I like about Thibs is he has been around forever so I think he has a bit of old school it's just basketball to him but he is also an insane detail guy so there is no rock left unturned when it comes to getting better. In other words Innovation and number crunching will be considered are likely valued.
