Welcome to the Wolves Cole Aldrich!!
Cole Aldrich has agreed to a three-year, $22 million deal with the Wolves.
Yes!! We got Cole here on a very reasonable contract. I'm thrilled to have Cole here as he is very underrated and is a great fit. Welcome Home Big Guy!!

I was far from the first to jump on the Aldrich bandwagon...several of you have been advocating him for awhile...but this was the article that really got me excited about him a few days ago. The author lays out a case for why the Clips had to make him a priority in free agency, with some very compelling data. How about 3rd in the league in defensive plus/minus for centers? And beyond his stats, his constant hustle will make him a fan favorite. This is terrific news!

Yes, Cole had definitely improved his game over the years. A solid acquisition at a reasonable price.

Nicely done. I like what he brings and I'm glad we didn't overpay.
Now let's get Rudez and Troy Daniels for some end-of-bench 3 point shooting and call it a day.

Aldrich shot 60% from the field last year, is a terrific defender and rim protector, is a great rebounder and is one of us...what's not to love?
I'd be on the board with a Troy Daniels signing, drew, but I think I've seen enough of Rudez stretching on the sidelines.

Re: Welcome to the Wolves Cole Aldrich!!
I wonder if Thibs considered offering Aldrich the 4th year for slightly less money per year, say 4 years for 25 or 26? With the cap rising again next year, that would have given us a fairly tradeable contract if we'd need to move him down the line for cap space to extend our core guys. Of course, that would be gambling that he'd work out, but signs are good. In this market, a solid backup center signed for 6.5 million per year is a real asset.

Nice move on a good deal, but at the same time it's kind of a meh move . Not a needle mover . Plenty of money left to find a bigger contributor yet.

Rudez played more than well enough for an end of the bench guy when he got a chance. Given Mitchell's focus on developing the youth I'd say he could have given quite a bit more. I'm saying they shouldn't try to do better, but I'd rather have a Rudez on a cheap contract than Rudez+ on one of this weekends ridiculous contracts.

This is solid. With KG out there last year, we were a better defensive team. I see Aldrich playing a similar role. Starting at the 5, but probably playing a few fewer minutes than Dieng unless he starts to earn it (this may also help keep G's value down slightly for next free agency, shhh). Towns and Dieng can both play the 4 really well next to Aldrich and slide over to the 5 to play with each other for long stretches like last year and with Bjelica or Payne at the 4.

Thibs absolutely values rebounding. We already have Wiggins with mediocre rebounding numbers.
Wasn't Rudez an historically bad rebounder?
Thibs has already cut bait on Rudez, so it's all moot anyway...
