Yeah, I was worried about a broken wrist when it happened, but maybe it's just a bruise. you can tell it hurts though...he clearly didn't dive to the floor after knocking the ball loose a few minutes ago because he was worried about the wrist.

It was in the first half but there was a possession where the guy got an easy look at the rim and Payne just shoved him in the back. I get Payne is probably playing for his career at this point but I didn't like that it could have been a dangerous play and in this settings there especially is no need for that.

At least this game Payne was at worst a mixed bag. Nice job getting that rebound off the miss and finishing the game off.

Good for Ryan Saunders and Tyus Jones (and AP, I guess)...you could tell they really wanted to win this game.

We'll probably have a tough matchup against the Bulls tomorrow, I'm guessing. Portis (20 pounds bigger than last year), Jerian Grant, Spencer Dinwiddie and Denzel Valentine...that's a nice SL roster.

But we have Tyus

I'm watching the Bull Cavs right now. Some fun matchups

Edit

Also apparently Jon Barry pretty much loves anyone that shows something and they can possibly be in the rotation for their team or somewhere. He needs to become a GM of some team and then we should call him. Lol

Nice win!

While Tyus is clearly running the show, we would not win these games if our supporting cast wasn't playing some pretty decent ball.

It pains me to say it, but we probably don't win that game without a solid performance by Payne in the 4th quarter. Not that it will save his job or anything...

Yes Payne had a nice quarter.

To me the Wolves have played together on both ends. Guys are not playing selfish.

I think one quality with Tyus you can count on is his feel for the game. He, like Ricky, has a knack for getting people in the right place, and people just fall into their roles. Ricky and Tyus make the game easier for others, less thinking and more doing.

Tyus has had a great tourney and I am happy he has won the MVP of the SL. I don't take much stock in it because Josh Selby (Rockchalk) and Glen Rice Jr have been 2 of the last summer league MVPs. But what I have seen from Tyus is that he will be a very solid 3rd PG for the wolves this year and I do trust him for 15-20 minutes for about 20ish games if either Ricky or Dunn go down. Tyus will never be a top end NBA player and he will probably never a NBA starter from day 1 on any NBA team but I don't know why he can't be like Luke Rindour, have a long NBA career as a good NBA backup PG. Nothing special but I do think there is something to the fact that he is a "winner" I think there is something that he has a chance to win multiple High School Championships, A NCAA Championship and a SL championship with really no top end lottery talent on the roster.

Overall I can't be mad at what we have seen from Tyus. Also WTF is with Payne he is my least favorite player in wolves history, you can see that he does have some talent (can knock down mid range/possible 3pters and is athletic) but how can he be so low basketball IQ. He was not like this under Izzo it is amazing to me.
