I absolutely love this signing. He was my #1 target as far as shooters were concerned. Great shooter, underrated defender, knows how to win (Warriors). Just a fricken steal of a signing. He'll give us 16-20 minutes a night and just cash 3s.

I wasn't sold on Aldrich but after further research and some of you here pimping him up, I'm totally on board. The Rush signing along with the Aldrich signing have improved our shooting, toughness, and overall defense. We get this while keeping our flexibility, a term Thibs loves.

Well put. Let's look at this offseason a bit.

Needs/solutions

Backup PG play/drafted Dunn

Rebounding and size/Aldrich

Defense/Aldrich, Rush and probably Dunn

So re we done? No we could use and other size guy or another shooter. Maybe we get someone that does a little bit of all that like an Acy or ending up signing Coty Clarke. We haven't got a big target but they have hit on guys that have filled in needs (or have potential to do so).

Over 40% from 3 for his career

Solid defender

Vet

Look at his block numbers for a SG/SF. Impressive.

A 1 year deal for 3.5 million is all it took to get him. It keeps us flexible for getting another guy now or later. Could also easily be moved in another deal around the trade deadline.

Why do you say he's a "solid defender"? You might be right, but can you give me some support. I know he once was considered a good defender but that was before two serious knee injuries. His advanced defensive stats show him to be a bad defender.

All the games I saw him play in the last 2 years he looked fine to me. Played more like a SF (pretty physical kinda like Iggy) though so maybe he has lost some of his quickness.

This is basically Bazz insurance, right? I mean, if Bazz ain't cuttin' it, Rush is available. Or maybe Rush beats out Bazz right from the beginning...

I think Rush will absolutely push Bazz for minutes. Also, don't rule out Bazz playing some small-ball 4 given his willingness to mix it up in the paint. Also, if Thibs ever explores the "hockey shift" philosophy - and let's hope he doesn't - an Aldrich-Bjelly-Bazz-Rush-Dunn lineup offers some decent spacing with Rush and Bjelly as your shooters hanging out beyond the arc.

OK. He does have a large wingspan but his lateral quickness is supposedly shot from the injuries. We don't have a lot invested in him, and maybe he can help with our three point shooting.

It sounds like Rush didn't feel back to himself physically and mentally after his injuries till this year. It's possible he finds his way there. Prince had a nice rebound season defensively last year for the Wolves it seems possible Rush can do enough to be at least average as a defender.

Nice write up on Rush. Thibs seems to like these guys that are tough and faced adversity. He added 2 of them this offseason in Dunn and Rush.

Nice find, monster.

So now we have swiped role players from the #1 seed and #4 seed teams in the West. That's gotta count for something, right?
