No mention of Rasho ?
I'd also mention Kg was far to passive for his own good. I wish he had brought as much dawg to the offensive end as he did defensive.

Wes Johnson wasn't soft. He just didn't care. Same for Derrick Williams. You'd need a different category for those two -- something like "least interested."

Wally Szcerbiak and Jonny Flynn were neither soft nor disinterested. Wally was an allstar who was quickly brought down by injuries. Jonny's talent was overrated by David Kahn coming out of college and then Flynn's hip injury robbined him of his physical abilities.

Darko and Kandi were both disinterested AND soft.

As for Wiggins, he seems disinterested at times, but nothing like Wes Johnson or Derrick Williams. Most of the time, Wiggins plays hard or at least plays like he wants to be on the court. Wiggins is also fairly soft, which is evident when he repeatedly chooses soft layups over dunks and shies away from contact. However, he's no where near the level of pathological softness as the others on the list. I still think the main problem with Wiggins is his poor handle, not softness or lack of effort.

I'd put Teague on that list as well. King of the Ole defense.

Well, I couldn't list every TWolf disaster. I'd have to write a book. My memory of Wes is that he was somewhat effective on defense but horrible on offense. Avg aggressiveness and toughness. But I guess I am wrong. He certainly was a bust considering.

To the other I did think about Rasho, but again when thinking of big guys, I immediately thought of Darko and Kandi. Rasho maybe was avg in effort and toughness, he was just so slow and unathletic, he looked soft.

I think for me I look at effort vs talent or ability. Guys who underperform are soft mentally. Wiggins still comes out high on the list, he use to dunk on clowns fairly regularly. At least get foul calls. Now he goes for weak ass layups and misses. He is completely gone.

I've been a fan since 1989. The Timberwolves have had an inordinate amount of "soft" players during those three decades. And yes... Andrew Wiggins... belongs in the discussion. Who cares if he scores a lot? That doesn't mean he's not "soft" in the traditional basketball sense of the word. Heck, even an established proven guy like Pau Gasol was considered "soft" at one point in his career after being punked by the Celtics in 2008. He responded to those claims very well by the way.

So maybe we need a definition of "soft" for this exercise?

For example, I thought Terrell Brandon was soft. I also thought he was good... but his aversion to playing aggressively cost the Wolves often in his career. Was he simply too good to make the list even though he was undeniably soft in his own way?

I thought JR Rider was mentally soft. Rashad McCants had the same head for the game. So did Eddie Griffin.

Then you have guys like Mike Miller, who played incredibly soft by simply going through the motions for a year in purgatory waiting for his ticket out of town.

A guy like Darko. When you have to convince a guy in his prime years via many millions of dollars to keep playing basketball... it's a bad sign. And it's no surprise when he plays "soft." He warned Kahn when he hesitated to even sign up to play.

Then you have guys like Mark Blount. Wes Johnson. Marko Jaric. Joe Smith. Olowakandi. D. Williams. All of them were ok players... all of them were forgettable because they all lacked any sort of fight in them.

Let's just all agree that the Wolves have had more "soft" players in the past 30 years than most (if not all) other franchises.
